The only complaint is about the summons. Another movie where men are unreasonable, selfish, etc. I do not deny in any way that the problems indicated in the film were and will be, and they need to be solved and they are being solved. But to see such a performance in every movie? Is this really the path that people should follow?
It's the same as if they were making films now, where the audience is told over and over again that the instigators of the war are immoral freaks. But normal people understand this anyway. Normal people don't care WHO, they care HOW TO STOP IT. There are freaks (on both sides of the floor) in the world, the problem is deeper. In this case, the purpose of the film should have been to instill sanity in people, so that a generation of even better people than we are now would be raised, in order to avoid, for example, the same new wars.
As in the case of those problems that have been unobtrusively demonstrated to us in recent years in every film, we need to take it deeper and hit it there, at the source, and not remind everyone and everything, often indiscriminately, which men are goats.
In general, this particular film should have been shown sooner / later, because this is a story and we need to take lessons from it, but not now, because this is oil on fire, not a source of problems. Peace and love to all. Thank you.
Yes, Ridley was scolded that the equipment was not like that, they did not wear such helmets, but it did not even catch his eye. On the contrary, only a very interesting technique with three branches of events caught my eye, first you observe everything from the husband's side, he is all such a noble, kind, good husband, then from the opponent's side, he is the same in principle as in Margarita's view, callous, cruel and selfish, all for justice Honor, he believes in God, and a priori I can't help but want his women. It is only towards the end of the film, when the events are revealed from the wife's side, that you realize how different the views of this event are from different sides, and how terrible this whole situation is.
Even by the last frame, when everything seems to have ended well, it does not get easier, especially after the heavy breathing of the main character, only the look at the child, so bright and kind, pleases and gives hope.
You need to watch.
Now about everything in order:
At first, the film seemed incredibly boring, despite my love for the medieval era. However, this is to be expected from films that tell about the same events several times. By the middle of the story, on Le Gris's part, I was drawn into the plot.
I must say right away that I didn't really like the main characters. Matt Damon in this role caused only disgust (if that was the intention, then bravo. if not, then a puncture, guys). Adam Driver, except for a beautiful face, did not catch anything either (a kind of fourteenth-century playboy).
Perhaps only Alex Lowther as the king and Jodie Comer surprised me with their rather good performance.
The very idea of the film is as simple as it is incredible! As they say, simplicity is beauty.
The picture is about how differently we all perceive and see the same situation. (I always like to repeat that a person hears and sees only what he wants)
Each person perceives the situation in their own way, due to their worldview and upbringing, therefore I am not in a hurry to draw hasty conclusions, and sometimes I prefer to remain silent in my statements than to express the dissatisfaction boiling inside. So it is here: the viewer sees three completely different views on violence and the events that preceded it. And what just took me out in this dark Middle Ages is that the rapist, in fact, does not even understand what he is guilty of.
The visual range and musical accompaniment of the painting are a delight for the eyes and ears.
