This is not a movie, but a real cinematic crime against the viewer. The Kravchuk brothers' thesis, based on the novel by Andrei Rubanov, looks like it was mounted in a basement on a knee over the weekend. Alexander Petrov, in the role of banker Andrey Rubanov, gives out his most wooden game in recent years: his eyes are empty, his facial expressions are absent, and his pretentious monologues about the 90s sound like a memorized speech at a corporate party. The plot is a banal story about a million dollars, a scam and prison, drowned in clichés: betrayal of friends, suffering of his wife and "spiritual rebirth" in the zone. All this was shot with a gray, dull camera, where even Moscow in 1996 looks like a set from a cheap TV series. The dialogues are wooden, the soundtrack is intrusive, and attempts to add depth only cause yawning and a desire to leave the room after the first 30 minutes. The supporting actors (including Husky in a strange role) seem like extras who forgot to instruct. The film claims to be a drama about the dashing 90s, but it only gives out a boring melodrama with zero emotional impact. Two hours of painful viewing, after which there is only one desire left — to return the ticket and the time spent. A complete failure, which is better to avoid. 1/10. I don't recommend it to anyone.

We watched a movie with a friend, I really liked it. Yes, the plot is hackneyed, but based on real events. Great camera work and editing. Even Petrov didn't make me sick, which is rare. Husky 10/10

It's a pity they didn't tell us where the friend's money went and why he returned to Russia. The actor with the funny surname Troik always plays assholes and didn't let him down here)

The ending of the movie ruined everything. What was the point of letting this rat go? And don 't even find out where the money is ? Nonsense
