The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once again as the journey of Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle begins.
I risk grabbing minuses, but I sincerely do not understand why the film is being scolded. I liked it very much. A stunningly spectacular and interesting end to the saga
Summing up all the released films, I want to say that this part is weaker than all the previous ones.
But I can't mention the additional materials that went on KINOPOISK after the credits of this film. I would put 10 out of 10 for them. Only after watching them do you understand what work has been done on the film, how everything is thought out to the smallest detail. It was interesting to see how all 9 films were shot, to see behind the scenes and feel that atmosphere.
I advise you to look, for those who have not seen. Film with additional the materials go 2h 50 min, but it's worth it :)
Ray is the purest Mary Sue. Resurrected by cloning Palpatine. Kylo's completely incomprehensible motivation, which it is impossible to even empathize with a little. In general, a meaningless ending to a meaningless trilogy. In this performance, she was definitely superfluous, but the loot wins everything…
The ending of the film with this "dyad of power" is just some kind of another Disney fairy tale, "here we are together with the help of the power of FRIENDSHIP can defeat the evil uncle 🪄✨", a completely disgusting plot, Ray decided from some fright that she was Skywalker. In general, Disney has fucked up half a century of painstaking work by ADEQUATE screenwriters and upset a lot of fans
I know that it's not in the subject at all and in general another universe, but when there was a piece with a snake, I thought for a second that Ray would speak on the parseltongue)
A little later, I will speak about this creation as a separate film, as well as the finale of the Saga. In the meantime, I'll dream about what I would like to see on the screen as an addition to the Saga: the story of the formation of the young Vader, exactly the time period immediately after the 3rd episode and the series Obi-Wan. I want to see how he survived the loss of Padme, the transition to SHH, how he was able to know and accept SHH, how he regretted what he had done and how he created Vader, whom we all love. There are a lot of materials in the expanded universe of comics and cartoons, there is not enough good film adaptation. You can even call Christensen and Portman with inserts of an alternate reality, and on a nostalgic note shoot not an action, but a drama, without obscuring the canon of the universe.
It won't be short. "Rey Skywalker" is a spit in the face of the Saga, the STAR universe and Vader personally. Loot defeats evil, and therefore, instead of the promised epic finale of the Skywalker Saga, we received a preamble to the following films with heroes whose fame (the ability to cut loot) haunts Disney. Sunrise, without exaggeration, launched the canon of the universe of stars by stars. We have hypertrophied everything that could be hypertrophied: dialogues, the actions of the characters, their heroism and general contribution to the plot, as well as the logic and dynamics of the narrative. Everything that happens on the screen is so fabulous that in my head I just can't connect it with the real ZV universe, which, with its deliberate childishness, still remained an adult movie for the conscious viewer. Each action and event can pass for a climax, and therefore, at the 10th minute of the film, the viewer "finished" from overexertion. In an attempt to close all previously opened arches, important characters and events of previous episodes merge in seconds (Hacks), and new arches are introduced in their place (like Palpatine or Lando), which would also merge from the plot as soon as possible. The FORCE, as such, and its essence were globally merged, introducing Fina and healing moments into this exclusivity, which had no plot meaning other than a tear squeezer. Deaths are stupid and merciless. Is it so stupid to pull out the greatest combinator of stars and drain it? And Kylo? Drama, where am I asking? A kiss? What would that be? To show what kind of connection there was between him and Rey? It didn't stick out at all. Leia… Ooh, that desperation in Fisher's eyes was hard to hide. The meaning of the character was lost in the last episode, leave the aunt alone. Luke also went there, because his arch importance, which was shoved at us throughout episode 7-8, was closed to the viewer in episode 6.
@Evittta: Well, the little things are eye- and ear-cutting absurdities: "dyad of power", healing a snake, putting a blade on the horizon of a destroyed ZS, holding Rey of a flying shuttle from Nechui, saving Fin with a Falcon and many other fakaps. I don't write for action and space battles – graphics are our everything, but the films of 77-83 looked much nicer in this sense, despite the incommensurable level of computer technology.
P.S. considering the fans' rejection of the Saga finale, Disney decided to go out on nostalgia for the actors, and in the following projects, in the form of TV series, invited the old cast of Christensen and McGregor. Apparently, the American fandom took the series warmer than on this resource, which gives a chance to see the actors in subsequent projects. P.P.S. for Christensen, the failure of the finale became an opportunity to return, despite the 20-year haight for the game, which ruined his career. As we can see against the background of sequels, both modern fans and oldfags have reduced their criticism of him and, in a sense, accepted his return to their characters with great warmth. Personally, as I wrote above, I would like to see with great interest an addition to the universe about the formation of the young Vader. In the meantime... I'll put a comma in the Saga after episode 6 and try to erase episodes 7-9 from my memory.
