Overview
When Hong Kong Inspector Lee is summoned to Los Angeles to investigate a kidnapping, the FBI doesn't want any outside help and assigns cocky LAPD Detective James Carter to distract Lee from the case. Not content to watch the action from the sidelines, Lee and Carter form an unlikely partnership and investigate the case themselves.
In fact, this is a simple, naive American film, but it is so sincere... There is really nothing unusual in the film - it was shot according to the traditional template of the buddy movie popular in America, where two different partners save the world or something smaller, but again, it was shot so perfectly that you forget that you are watching the film, as if you are immersed into all this atmosphere and this movie gets into your soul.
The plot, though simple, is still interesting, a Chinese consul, his kidnapped daughter and an English bandit who runs a Chinese gang. It couldn't be simpler, it seems.. But no, it worked!
And of course humor, there is quite a lot of it, it is light, very simple, but it lifts the mood =)
What is the result? The film is dynamic, modern, not boring, you don't need to prepare and gather your thoughts for it, you just need to relax for it, I really appreciate such films and recommend them to others, because it's wonderful! It's a pity that such films are no longer being made. And I advise you to definitely watch it. A kind, positive film, just what the doctor ordered! Good luck to everyone.
