Description
Two homicide detectives are on a desperate hunt for a serial killer whose crimes are based on the "seven deadly sins" in this dark and haunting film that takes viewers from the tortured remains of one victim to the next. The seasoned Det. Somerset researches each sin in an effort to get inside the killer's mind, while his novice partner, Mills, scoffs at his efforts to unravel the case.
Strong actors.
A worthy representative of the genre. Keeps in suspense from beginning to end.
For the abundance of thrillers and detectives I watched before the film "Seven" (many of which, probably, techniques from this film were given life), the ending was not something WOW, this is a logical outcome, a logical technique. I have repeatedly reviewed the film, it's nice to look at the duo of Pitt and Freeman, as well as, I repeat, a worthy representative of cinema. It's fascinating every time, you believe in the characters, you analyze their words and actions.
to begin with, it infuriated me for half a film that instead of normal detective work (evidence, interviews, evidence), the two main detectives are engaged in do not understand what: they read art books. It was as if this moment was made purely for the viewer, to let on more mystery and give pseudo-intellectuality. at the same time, all this does not help them in any way. Why was Dante added there too? He has a slightly different concept of hell. and only when they are really doing their job, only then do they have any progress on the case. there was also a feeling that it was not so much the killer who was in a hurry to complete his crimes, as the director was being kicked so that he would not delay the timing, so the crumpled second half of the film turned out.
I saw it at the cinema the other day. Surprisingly, the room is full. At least half of them are young people.
The main advantage of the film, perhaps, is the dialogues. They are beautifully written, they contain quite a lot of interesting thoughts. Well, handsome Brad Pitt is in the prime of his life. How unlawfully handsome he was in his youth, it's crazy
