Overview
Harry Potter has lived under the stairs at his aunt and uncle's house his whole life. But on his 11th birthday, he learns he's a powerful wizard—with a place waiting for him at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As he learns to harness his newfound powers with the help of the school's kindly headmaster, Harry uncovers the truth about his parents' deaths—and about the villain who's to blame.

I remember watching this part for the first time in a movie theater. I remember being disappointed by Hagrid's appearance, which was very different from the book description, and in an important way. According to the books, Hagrid has a harsh, rough appearance, he looks frightening and dangerous. And it gives a contrast to its essence of cinnamon buns. And in the movie, he looks like a big bun, but the whole effect is lost.
I like the first two films the most, because they were shot by one of my favorite directors, Chris Columbus. His kind style, giving off warmth, always pleased me. The main actors here are still so young and smiling)
With the third part, such a purely gloomy style of shooting already begins.
In general, an excellent adaptation of books for children and adults. For the full effect of sensations, of course, it is better to read the books themselves, they are generally excellent.
everyone has their own vision, so there are mood swings in parts, but the story didn't get any worse from this, after all
Magic, sensations and emotions are priceless)
A vivid example of how books can be beautifully adapted into films!
Albus Dumbledore
God, you can ALWAYS watch this (and all subsequent) movies. It's so nice to plunge into this fabulous world over and over again, to watch friendship, bravery and bravery, love, magic - the incredible adventure of Harry and his friends.
"Always."
A story about friendship, bravery, serious social problems and the victory of goodness 🤌🏻
Happiness can be found even in dark times, if you do not forget to turn to the light! 🙌🏻
J. K. Rowling knew what to say)
this part is associated with winter, warmth and comfort, in no other way, I review it every year when it snows (this year I stay until December), during the year I also review it once or twice, on especially sad, cold evenings, always in
As a child, I did this for about a year. However, then there were only three parts and we were actively waiting for the fourth :) Oh, the best time!
I've been madly in love since childhood) 😍
The atmosphere of a fairy tale.. Magic.. Magic!
I'm not going to brag, I haven't read books like most fans in my time, but the franchise is amazing.
Specifically, the philosopher's stone, I would not say that it is included in my top 3, nevertheless it is the beginning of beauty, it is the beginning of magic, and it was not enough in the 2000s.
Thanks to all the actors and J.K. Rowling for this.
You're immediately transported back to childhood. Everyone who was born in the 90s was lucky to grow up with Harry, so books and movies always burn with a warm light in their hearts, reminding them of childhood naivety, hope for a bright future and magic.
I also have a stone, but it is in the kidneys, and it is unlikely that he philosophizes on any topics. Well, okay, I got distracted.
Before watching the first part, I reread the first book. This is how it is planned to do with all parts. I don't want to use banal phrases, but the book is better. Fuller, more colorful, and even humorous. It's clear that you can't cram the whole book into one movie, but the plot is developing too fast for the movie. This is not critical if you do not read the work, but it catches your eye.
Of all the actors and images, Hermione has made the best impression on me so far. It's about the same in books. Ron is also similar, but in the film, it seems to me, he was somehow completely simplified.
But I have some questions about Mr. Potter. Especially in terms of emotions. It's hard to demand great acting from a teenager, but in the first film I didn't like Harry at all. Then the screen Potter will be corrected, if I remember. But that will be later. But for now...
My rating for the Philosopher's Stone is 3.5
A good start that could have been better.
I forgot to mention the graphics. She... acceptable. That's the year 2001, don't forget. Oh, I wish I could go back to 2001...
the only thing is, the troll came out clumsy. It could have been worse.
I'm 33 now and I'm still checking my mailbox for a letter from Hogwarts.
Probably the best film of the millennium <3
I will always love this franchise.
I love the whole series of books and movies. I review it every New Year, it's like plunging into childhood.
And it's funny to watch years later and knowing how it will end. Snape doesn't seem evil or unfair at all. Well, he's a little gloomy, but he almost always speaks to the point, and he doesn't really attack Potter. It turns out, in a sense, the effect of an unreliable narrator, the kids suspected him so much that we believed them)
I'm still hoping for a letter from Hogwarts 🥺🤞
I will never stop admiring this universe (including our great trinity: Harry, Hermione and Ron) and noticing some new details for myself with each revision. And after completing the Hogwarts Legacy game, these details only became more)
Thank you for the world of magic and waiting for the cherished letter in childhood.
In fact, we are all magicians. It's just that we're already grown children, but that doesn't change anything. 🤍
PS. Right now I'm looking at a tape that was given to me as a child. The only tape I have saved as a memory is the first Harry Potter movie.
Happy New Year! :)
PS. The comment was written in 2023. It's 2026, and I've just reviewed all the parts of the GP.
From the very beginning, as soon as the screensaver and the magical music begin (which plays in my head for a long time), goosebumps go through my body, and warm memories come back to my head💓
It's wonderful that the films didn't disappoint and perfectly complemented the books.
You can review it endlessly.
I just love it 😻
Love for the ages ❤️ I
strongly advise you to read books
However, now it's a little sad that the first 3 actors who appear in the film are no longer with us..
And even if this is not my favorite part, it's just as pleasant to review as the rest of the films.
I'm amazed how I don 't get tired of watching Harry Potter
every year without stopping , I 'm ready to watch all the parts , and how to enjoy all the events for the first time , and the actors
Hey 🤌
P.S.: I wrote "Wait" first, and then I thought: "Stop. I'm waiting too!".
I am extremely grateful to Williams for the musical accompaniment, thanks to which the maximum immersion takes place
My sister and I have organized a marathon here: reading a book, watching a movie, an overview of the Hiccups and a book club from stand up club #1, all stages have been completed in the first part)
- Always
Classic. Tears always come from the moment Harry leaves the infirmary until the very end. And now it's interesting to review separately, paying attention, for example, to Snape, to whether he behaved so terribly with Harry, knowing his whole background (I don't think so! his image in the movies has made it worse for him that he is generally logical, but in the books it is different)
In the book, we are told that when Harry and his friends found the cannon for the first time, Neville was with them.
Also at the Quidditch match, Neville, Ron and Seamus got into a fight with Malfoy and his friends. That's why Ron ended up in the infirmary. And in the forbidden forest scene, it was actually Neville instead of Ron. He heard how Malfoy wanted to hand over Harry and Hermione to Filch and ran to look for Harry to warn him, but he got caught himself, for which he received punishment with the others.
First of all, it proves that he is also brave and worthy of his faculty. And secondly, these moments show Neville as one of Harry Potter's friends. The film focuses on three friends.
I'm also very interested in why they showed us a troll, a centaur, and a unicorn, but when Harry first met Professor Quirrell, he was looking for a book about vampires, and we hadn't seen a single vampire in all the movies. 🤔
In any case, the film adaptation is excellent, I want to review it again and again.
Oh, I got to know books in about 2004, at the age of 13, when I already had 5 books and 3 movies. You can say that later she grew up on these books and films and roughly corresponded to the age of GG. It was cool because I understood the characters from the bottom of my heart. Now, as an adult, I don't always understand them and agree with them, but then everything seemed so clear)) It's cool, of course, to match the age of the characters, plus or minus.
At the same time, I've never owned a single book. I borrowed everything from a friend. They bought new ones for her every time, and I took them from her to read)))) the only thing is, I read the last part on the Internet when the book hadn't been published in Russia yet. I read in some amateur translation where the horcruxes were Horcruxes, like in the original 😁
And the first movie was the year it was released, and I watched the 4th one on my friend's computer. Well, somewhere in there are the first 3 parts. I haven't even had a computer yet. Oh, the times.
The first movie I saw at the cinema was the 6th.
Now I don't try to review it every year, or else I already know everything by heart. Both books and films have already been read a hundred times in both Russian and English. The main fan theories have been read, and the Hogwarts legacy has been completed.
There's something I wanted to watch again this year, at least the first parts))
What kind of headmaster announces Slytherin's victory first, and then robs them of that victory? They're children, that's not how it's done. Since I really wanted Gryffindor to win, I should have awarded these points right away, it was very ugly.
I haven't read the books and I don't know how it really is, but I've always disliked the fact that the rest of the houses don't open up, hardly show them at all, and that Slytherins are portrayed as villains. If they're really all like that, then why are you teaching them?
I also wondered how things would have turned out if Harry had become friends with Draco and joined Slytherin after all?!
Despite all this, of course I love these movies, although I prefer the last parts.
As for safety, usually if someone falls, the teacher slows down the fall, well, at Quidditch, if it happens in his presence.. Plus, there are a lot of all kinds of wounds, fractures are easy to treat, not like Muggles. Well, being a wizard is not easy and not safe in itself)) you can cast a spell unsuccessfully and die)
In the Middle Ages, in ordinary life, for example, children often died from diseases, wild animals, and so on, and this was treated quite simply.
Here you can probably draw some kind of analogy)) that's their life, there are a lot of risks))
One of my favorite universes
, especially the first movies where they're just babies.
I watched all the episodes and of course several times. And I'll definitely come back to watching it.
