The Mummy

An extremely unsuccessful film. You'd better look at the 1999 mummy, you'll get a lot more buzz

This is something strange and incomprehensible. The very beginning of the film already sets a bad mood for further viewing, because the actions of the characters are so illogical that trash horror movies will envy it. As for the story itself, it is also rather poorly spelled out, because the Mummy is associated with some kind of end of the world or simply divine intervention in people's lives, but here the Mummy passes its story arc in a circle of several people without interacting with the rest of the world at all (there was one moment, but it is very poorly disclosed). Cruz plays at his level, but his game is not enough to save this project and the future fate of the Monster Universe from Universal, which the studio itself realized and closed the shop. The only thing I liked was the style of the Mummy itself, the combination of gray London and sunny Egypt is conveyed wonderfully. I don't even know what else to say... The film could have turned out better even with a fan service, but it wasn't there at all, except for one book from the original film. Fanservice would have helped somehow, but alas...

The script is terrible, the characters are not good, the villain is boring, the graphics are weak. At the same time, the operator's work is surprisingly good. Perhaps it would have been better without Tom Cruise and it would have been easier to pay off.

I remember sleeping in the cinema for almost the entire movie. The plot is practically about nothing.
Acting is generally something separate (game 1 out of 10).
