The film is clearly not for children. I watched it as an adult and I was really scared of this creepy Fawn and vile pale man.

I love Guillermo del Toro's style. Fairy tales for adults. How I cried at the end of the movie.

Undoubtedly one of the best works by Guillermo del Toro. A dark, cruel, but at the same time very beautiful fairy tale.

I expected more fairy tales than a story about fascists and partisans. Anyway, it's not a bad movie.

There are plenty of monsters here, but there is only one real monster. An interesting fairy tale showing a creepy reality.

The film is good because you watch it and feel it all, it causes emotions.
I started watching it only because of the actress Ivana Bakero, but in the end I was fascinated by the plot.
I was ready to just kill the captain-for a child with a gun. The monster.
And the film itself is good.
There was a very sweet moment when Ophelia was telling a story to her brother.
And when the Mandrake root turned into a humanoid baby, I thought it was cute too.)
Besides Ophelia, I liked Mercedes. She turned out to be very brave in the end, even though she called herself a big coward.
The ending is sad, of course, but she still became a princess. Just in another world.

The toughest fairy tale I've ever seen. A very cool combination of magic and fascism.
It's atmospheric, stressful at some points and very interesting to watch.

I've watched this movie several times already, so I found out that there is a book I decided to read, then review it again, I recommend it on vacation, that's just the way they say

It wasn't the magical creatures that inspired the most horror, but the captain. A vile, disgusting character, causes only unpleasant emotions.

It was something with something, how cruel that guy like her dad was, it's just terrible. And the moment with the hand after the torture also scared me a lot. Such mixed emotions, the movie is super!

It's a bit long in places, but it's a pretty creepy movie.

This is one of the best films I've ever watched. It's extremely thought provoking especially in today's world with all these ongoing wars around us. One can definitely gain from watching this film which presents beautifully the power of innocence and imagination in the face of brutality, tyranny and oppression. I would definitely recommend it but mainly for adults (16+/15+) because it can get quite graphic at times.
