The Prestige (2006)

I've reviewed it several times and I'm ready to review it again. Amazing. It would seem that we see the secrets of magic tricks, and the film is no longer about them, but about people who compete to see who is the best. They experience creative jealousy. And we see that people are ready to dirty their hands and even complicate their lives, just to be more brilliant than others.

I love this movie. A dramatic, interesting and unpredictable story, gorgeous actors, a brilliant idea.

An incredible sight! The plot slowly draws you in frame by frame, carries you away, and then does not let go for a moment, entangling you in a web of moments, situations, accidents. And in the end, you sit with your mouth agape, digesting what you saw, trying to reproduce individual moments in your memory and compare them with what is happening. The confrontation of magicians here is bombastic, to the point of rupture of the aorta, and the drama is off the scale! I watched it three times. And everyone will forgive me, but I'm on the side of Jackman's hero...

And yet Christopher Nolan is the best screenwriter and director. I have seen many of his films such as The Beginning, The Argument, The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Oppenheimer, Interstellar, Batman: The Beginning. And they all collect the best ratings, and the plot captures from the first minutes. Always interesting, curious, and always thinking: Well, well, what's next, and how to end. And the finale is amazing, I didn't even imagine it in my thoughts. And most importantly, it's like this all the time. 🔥🤤 This file is no exception, it's a bomb. And the finale struck me as.... seriously??!! An excellent film, magical, I sat with great curiosity from beginning to end, but I did not expect such an ending.I recommend it, it will definitely be on my list of top movies. And if it's true how this business of magic works, what everyone does to each other, then I'm deeply sorry!🥹❤️‍🩹

Almost from the very beginning of the film, I've been terribly bombed by Bale's character. I understand that you are fanatics and live by your ideas, but your idea led to the death of a man. Yes, a.k.a. assistant, and Jackman's wife herself gave the go-ahead to a more dangerous node, but this indifference just kills. What does it mean that I do not know which knot I tied? In a state of shock from what happened, this can happen. But throughout the film, Bale is not shown at all as a person who is able to react so deeply to an incident. And when the already dead girl was taken out of the aquarium, couldn't you recognize your own knot on her hands? And if I can understand the further act of an enraged and grief-stricken Jackson, then Bale's revenge after that is not at all. In general, it turned out, of course, a fair cycle of cruelty.

The movie that made my jaw drop to the floor, and I was actually one of those who lost it during the movie The Best Deal.

After all, I was for Angier the whole movie, you can understand his position, what he's taking revenge for, and so on, but there's no Alfred, of course, before his brother's death, the movie is like a chess game , surprise after surprise . With the clones of hats and cats, for some reason, at first I thought that this was also set up by Alfred, who was in cahoots with Tesla, but no, it turned out that the machine was actually creating clones. For some reason, I thought the whole movie that there were no miracles, magic, etc. in it, they say, everything is realistic and mundane, and any trick can be explained, but no, they added a bit of fiction.)))

There is an opinion that Bale's character does not know which knot he tied, because he did not tie it, but his brother. For the same reason, there may be a lack of remorse at funerals. One of the twins was a family man by nature, and in the end he didn't even want to know the secret of Tesla's car. The other was an obsessive magician, like Hugh Jackman's character. They were worth each other with their callousness and cruelty to others (and in some cases, to themselves).
As a child, you pay more attention to tricks and reincarnations, but now you pay more attention to what kind of moral freaks they are. 🤡

It was very exciting to watch this movie. How much life is shown in it, and how everything is presented. He does not let go until the very end, I want to watch and watch. the ending is very unexpected, just a twist after a turn, I just love it) and of course I can't help but mention the beautiful Hugh, Christian and Scarlett here - just gorgeous, young and beautiful!! ❤️‍🩹
