I didn't even understand this movie. The whole movie is the adventures of some fools, the humor is minimal, interesting adventures don't work either, and there's no crime story either. if it wasn't for the cult status of the movie, I would have turned it off after half an hour, but I overcame myself and watched it. I'll put it down to the fact that I'm not very smart.

As for me.. The movie is good.
A light weekend movie, I'd say.
The passing plot is a check.
The charismatic hero is a check.
No less charismatic supporting characters are the check.
Growing up, the main character throughout the film is a check.

I would say it's an atypical comedy.

For the Russian community, I would recommend watching a cube in a cube in voiceover. A lot of cues will be much clearer.

It's amazing how much this movie looks like a patchwork quilt, but somehow it also manages to work properly.

I finally watched the cult movie "The Big Lebowski"! I've heard about him for a long time, about his crazy humor and unusual atmosphere. And I have to say, it was exactly what I expected, and even more. The film left very vivid, positive and sometimes absurd impressions.

Plot: Chaos Around Chaos
The plot of the film, at first glance, seems confusing and meaningless, but that's the beauty of it. I saw the main character, Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski, who is the epitome of serenity and indifference. He just wants to play bowling and smoke weed, but they mistake him for another "Big" Lebowski and drag him into an absolutely absurd criminal story with kidnappings, ransoms, nihilists and, of course, bowling. I really liked how the film manages to constantly veer off the main line, each time leading into new, even more strange and funny situations. It's such a mess, but it's very pleasant and thoughtful.

Characters: Vivid and Unforgettable
The heroes of The Big Lebowski are a separate song. The dude, with his iconic robe and the White Russian drink, immediately became one of my favorite movie characters. I appreciated his philosophy of "be yourself," even when the world around you is going to hell. His friends are the nervous Vietnam veteran Walter Sobchak, with his obsession with bowling rules and the constantly pulling out a gun, and the eternally silent Donny – this is just a genius trio. Their dialogues and interactions are pure absurdity and genius, and I constantly found myself smiling. Each character here is a separate anecdote.

Humor and Atmosphere
The humor in the film is very special. He's very "Cohen" – it's clever nonsense, dialogues that you want to quote, and a lot of situations that seem ridiculous, but at the same time work perfectly. I laughed at how the Dude treats everything with such incredible calmness, at Walter's outbursts of anger, and at Donnie's endless problems. The film creates its own unique, relaxed, but constantly suspenseful atmosphere. This is such a "lazy" detective story, where the outcome is not as important as the journey itself.

Nice Bonus: Familiar Faces!
And yes, I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw familiar faces in the Big Lebowski! It was very nice for me to see a character who reminded me of those I had already met, even if not in one movie. I can't help but note that the similarity in the types or even in the very atmosphere of the cinema sometimes makes it possible to find such pleasant "Easter eggs". It's like seeing an old acquaintance in a new place – you immediately feel more comfortable and realize that directors know how to work with actors, creating recognizable and beloved images. This intersection between the different pictures we talked about adds a special charm to the film and makes you remember other favorite movie moments.

Conclusion
In general, "The Big Lebowski" for me is not just a comedy, it's a whole phenomenon. It relaxes, makes you laugh and makes you look at life from a completely different angle. This is a film that you want to revisit in order to immerse yourself in its unique atmosphere of absurdity and enjoy every dialogue. I think this is a must-have movie for anyone who appreciates smart humor and an unconventional approach to storytelling. Definitely one of my new favorites!

I didn't get into the film, but as I realized (after watching) from reading the reviews, a lot depends on the chosen voice acting, and after reading a couple of articles on the query "why the film became a cult", it appeared in its place at the time, like many of the classics. Perhaps if I had grown up with it, or if I had been more imbued with the time when it was shot, I would have had a different impression after watching it, but as it is, this is a passing movie with no plot and a love for it that I do not understand. Yes, perhaps, after all, the carpet set the style of the whole room and the whole film is based on it.

Almost every dialogue can be broken down into quotes. I watched the Goblin in voiceover and smiled the whole movie. The chemistry between the Dude and Walter is a separate matter. Their relationship is the most complicated. Well, the musical accompaniment is just a pleasure to sit and listen to this movie.
