it's just fucking awesome. the film kept me in suspense all the time. and the ending killed with its frenzy and sincere family vibes.

Frank is the only hero who impressed at first and showed promise. I thought he'd reason with his dad and his toxic grandfather. But no, he just became friends with a teenage dedinside to talk about suffering together. "Years of suffering are the best part of life, because it is suffering that shapes us the way we are. Well, a children's beauty contest is generally a separate topic for burnout. I hope that such contests are prohibited by law today.
The whole family spent the whole movie telling this poor little girl that she was the most beautiful and would win 100% of all. But right before the performance, when they saw the other participants, they wanted to forbid her to go on stage, as it turned out that she was "ugly" and would disgrace herself. IT'S JUST THAT

And at the end, we are given a cheerful family dance, as if it is able to compensate for all the fierce trash that was going on earlier. As if after the dance, all the problems abruptly disappeared, and the family healed amicably (no). A happy ending with further happy house behind the scenes

The whole family is happy, but their support means that we really are all different, and these contests are full of corruption and there is nothing honest about them and never has been. And these make-up products for children are pzdts😂

I started watching and some kind of bullshit, turned it off

This film is a ray of sunshine, which is so saving during the usual life and routine. Very emotional, but still keeping you in suspense. Each family member has their own cockroaches in their head, some unattainable goals, addictions, principles, failures, and this makes each of them a real person with their own problems and experiences. But they have a little Olive who unites them in order to achieve her dreams. The final dance scene gave me the idea not to be afraid to be uncomfortable for other people and, no matter how corny it may sound, to have an identity. Each of the family is a bit of a loser, and this does not mean that the whole world has collapsed, quite the contrary. I want to say about the cast separately, it's super. Steve Carell was especially impressed, it's unusual to see a well-known comedian in such a dramatic role.

Unexpectedly cool movie. I'm sorry for my grandfather and the teenager who turned out to be colorblind. And I mean, was Olive the only one who'd asked him how he saw colors after all these years? Is everything so full of its own problems? If he had known, he would have chosen a different life dream. He might not have known either, because the world in such colors is normal for him.
I found out that not everyone has my jokes, this is how astigmatism manifests itself, in the form of rays from light sources and double images. So that's it.
My uncle is cool too, even though he hasn't had much luck lately. Well, the father is clearly red flagging from the very beginning, especially with regard to his wife and daughter.
The mother seems to be a hyper-responsible family manager.
And yes, the competition is just scary, in terms of making children look like adults, it immediately turns them into retired dwarfs, although the children themselves are all beautiful, and Olive is also a cutie with gorgeous hair and huge beautiful eyes. So I recommend watching it, it's quite vital, kind and not trivial.

The film is about being yourself to be happy. And this is the very truth that we often forget about, trying to follow someone's invented "standards".

And I want to cancel Paul Dano separately. To be honest, I don't really like him, but in this movie I was very touched by the moment with his cry of despair, even tears welled up in my eyes and goosebumps on my skin.

We used to be able to make such a cool movie. I got high after a day at work watching. Everything in it is organic. The main thing is that the reactions of all the characters to the events that concern them are very real. The first is the moment with the call that Olive gets into the contest-well, this is really exactly the case(I imagined how my daughter also beeps and immediately runs to collect all her jewelry with a cry: we're going, we're going!!). The second is the reaction of everyone to the words and about ice cream at the table - really everyone behaves like this when parents somehow instruct their children in even if the words do not say that this is nonsense and does not have to be true at all. The third is the last words of support from the father to his son - because it really shows how important it is to hear this from parents in adulthood, and also that they love us as much as in childhood. Fourth - Dwayne's reaction to color blindness and at the same time the silent scene of olive's circle embraced him-emotions are difficult and it takes a little time to survive and continue on your way. Well, the fifth is what kind of kringe adults caught when they saw how strange this beauty contest is and not at all about reality.

God, that's great, the ending really lifted my mood, I laughed a lot. I am glad that in the end all the characters did not hesitate to support the girl and gave her SUCH a NUMBER (in principle, it is expected from the grandfather) the film shows that being "strange" and "not like that" is not scary at all, the main thing is to be yourself and get happiness from it
everyone in this family, of course, has a million problems and not the best deeds, but the characters are real (but I will not forgive the girl's father for hints about weight and weight loss)

Everyone has their own flaws or fears, but it's important to have people around who are capable and ready to support you, even if you're performing a mega-fast dance on stage in front of a lot of people.
The film leaves conflicting emotions, but it's worth watching.

One of the best comedies and dramas all rolled into one. The disclosure of each of the characters takes place gradually, and even the grandfather played his role (to understand better, look). The scenes with the family are very realistic, sometimes it felt like I was sitting at the table with them and watching a typical family scene with awkward pauses, shouting and arguing. It looks light, especially cool to watch with your loved ones.
