The Golden Key: A New Pinocchio Story (2026)

The movie is full of crap. why would you make such black stuff and dilute it with inserts with a crooked pinocchio and random cartoons? plot.. No comments. morale is at the baseboard level. Only Petrov and Isakov were pleased. rave!

An interesting and atmospheric film. It's a little too childish, but it's still fun. I liked the atmosphere of the theater and the actors are well suited to their roles. Overall, the picture is beautiful. 8/10

On the plus side: great cast, beautiful costumes, Petrov didn't annoy, at some point the song "Pinocchio" got goosebumps.

I didn't like the completely meaningless existence of many heroes. Why is Duremar there? At first, I didn't realize it was him at all, just some kind of person at the entrance to the theater, I thought one of the Karabas dolls. He mentioned leeches a couple of times, but that's all, and he had his own song in the same Soviet film. The difference between the "dolls" has not been revealed at all, but only four were left.... Apart from the different costumes, there is not much difference. Why Alice and Basilio? It's a pity that the song was changed, and it's not in Russian with subtitles... I remind you, the film is more aimed at a children's audience – should they have time to read and read at all? And then Alice just told Pinocchio about the money tree (just like that, because it was in the original), and then they just let him go... for the sake of the jacket scene. They also became kind of good in the end. Mde. There is no Karabas at all, although when Bondarchuk first appeared, he seemed quite good. And how he shaved off his beard... Barabas would not have done that, he treasured her, he loved her. I remember how he was running around with her...
I didn't like the overall scenery. It looks good up close, but the general plan of the same passage of time looks too toyish. Pinocchio and cockroaches stood out from the general background. It would be better if Pinocchio was also made a disguised person, like animals, and cockroaches were removed altogether. And the most "nasty" thing is that when re–sounding, a lot of people did not get into the lips...

In general, the script is weak, the picture is beautiful

I was shocked by the trailer. This creepy doll makes you think of the Sinister Dead, for some kind of horror movie like Pinocchio, revenge of the log, it would be perfect. Adult actors portraying Malvina and Harlequin are just terrible, the associations are even worse. I just want to scream, get your dirty hands off the beautiful movies.

A Pinocchio and Pinocchio crossover, the movie turned out to be very funny. There is no sacred or deep meaning, moralizing, this film simply seeks to entertain the viewer. Some refer to nostalgia, some jokes have a double meaning, but overall I enjoyed watching it. From jokes "-Don? Don!" or "Our father" was laughing out loud, the songs of Dolls and Foxes were right in my heart! I really got a kick out of the movie, there's no need to compare it with the Soviet Pinocchio, Disney's Pinocchio, and despite the fact that the film has absorbed a lot of plot threads from the mentioned films, it still looks unusual, and it can't be called plagiarism.

The actors are top-notch, the costumes are beautiful, the world is beautiful, Pinocchio is a sideshow, but the voice acting is top, a great movie for the New Year holidays, which is very cool to watch on the big screen

The morality has been slightly changed, adjusted to modern realities. For example, "you can't hit anyone." For my 8-year-old, the film turned out to be very instructive.

On the downside: there weren't enough Karabas dolls. It's like there wasn't enough time for them, although the timing of the film is quite long. I didn't like the reference to Ollivander. What for? I didn't understand what Alice and Basilio's magic was based on and why it was there. And I still don't understand why Karabas-Barabas was arrested.
I was waiting for frogs, but I didn't get them.

In general, if you really don't compare it with the original, then the film is good in itself. It is clear that they tried, and did not blurt out on the knee. I recommend watching it.

There are some very good moments, just not on the age limit of the film, and then abruptly something straight for the kids. I sometimes got confused with vibes and feelings. I think it would be better if we made a film with an emphasis on atmosphere and a catchy plot, for more adult children. Than to make the hundredth Russian movie with fake magic and let's live together. I have nothing against such films, I like to watch them myself sometimes, but in this case, in my opinion, it is not very appropriate, besides, if you take on the roles of children of adult actors with good and serious roles in previous projects.

"Pinocchio" (2026): A complete disaster
The new "Pinocchio" of 2026 is a cynical hack, insulting the memory of the 1975 classics and Tolstoy's fairy tales. This is not a remake, but a mediocre product that makes you want to turn off the screen from the very first minutes.
The plot has been turned into incoherent chaos: the characters are illogical, motivations are missing, key episodes are cut or distorted. Karabas-Barabas is a pathetic clown, Malvina is an empty doll, Pierrot is a meme about depression. The search for the golden key takes 20 minutes, the rest is an unnecessary filler with stupid flashbacks.
Acting is a nightmare. Pinocchio plays so woodenly, as if he saw the text for the first time. The rest either replay to caricature or disappear from the frame. No emotions, no spark. Even Alice and Basilio look like they were forced to act.
There is no directing: static camera, chaotic editing, lapses in tempo. Visuals are a disgrace: cheap dolls, poor CGI. The soundtrack consists of faceless synthesizers instead of Shainsky's brilliant songs.
The film is offensive to the audience and the memory of the original. Instead of magic, there is emptiness and a cash register payment. Don't go.
Rating: 0/10. Review the 1975 classics or read a book.

It's the worst movie I've seen in years. Absolutely everything is bad here: from the script and the disgusting dialogues to the acting and the terrible 3d models of pinocchio/cockroaches. I dropped out of the shaved Barabas and Tortillas in the submarine altogether. The only thing I liked more or less was Basilio and his companion, and some of the songs, but that's not the merit of modern filmmakers... I would put the creators of this "work" in jail for abusing poor Pinocchio in such a way.

A remake with a changed plot. I was not pleased.

I went to see the new Pinocchio and was left completely perplexed. The main complaint is why did they hire Vitaly Kornienko for the role of the wooden boy? She's already been shoved in every second movie, wherever you spit, and then they've made Pinocchio. Visually, it turned out not to be a wooden toy, but some kind of frightening doll with a deathly pale face, which really makes me feel uncomfortable. The voice is also alien — there is not the mischievous energy that this character should have.

But I won't keep silent about the film itself either. First of all, this is not a fairy tale at all, but some kind of depressive drama about violence, rejection and identity crisis. Instead of fun adventures, it's all gloom: Pinocchio reflects, suffers, is humiliated at school, and Papa Carlo refuses him under pressure from Karabas. A lot of iconic moments were thrown out of the plot: there is no Field of Miracles, there is no scene in an inn, instead of a Cricket there are three cockroaches, yu. And the ending is generally tinny — Pinocchio dies, then he is resurrected, but the sediment remains. And why should children show it on New Year's Eve?

In general, another crook who rides on the same HYPE. It's not that the classics have been modernized, they've just been mutilated.

However, the opinions of film critics here are harsh, but I liked it, as for a fairy tale it's very good, I expected bright visual effects from the film, good moral messages for children and the plot is not the same as in previous versions, which, of course, are wonderful and have been revised many times. That's what I got.

They tried to show authentic Italy so much that it is unclear why then they would shoot Pinocchio instead of Pinocchio? Personally, my problem was that after visiting the Moskino film Park, the whole town looked like one square and a couple of passages from it, imitating the streets.

The costumes and makeup are good, but the trouble is with the plot and the characters. The film is not about Pinocchio, but about Papa Carlo. The tragedy is like in the song: Oh, my bastard, my son is a degenerate. I was quietly scolding myself for something, and then I suddenly remembered that I always wanted a son. And in Italy, apparently, they don't allow single men to adopt children. Well, the son turned out, but the trouble is, he's dumb as a log. And the folder constantly has to blush and apologize for his actions. Some kind of Monkey's paw, not Pinocchio.

The title character himself is not interesting at all. Not because he looks like a Porridge with a doshirak on his head. It's because it's empty. And all these head detachments and its free rotation are more frightening than amusing. If we had our own Very scary movie, there would be a parody of Pinocchio instead of Megan.

And so it is with most of the characters. They are written superficially and participate in the plot somehow. Like the troupe, like Alice and Basilio. They could have at least shown a Daredevil with leeches in the credits. Only Carlo and Carabas are well-developed. Either the actors invested more or because they were better written in the script.

They'd better write their own songs. It's not a fact that at least one has become popular, but it would be more authentic. Otherwise, it turns out that no one knows Pinocchio yet, but he is already singing "who is familiar to everyone."

Well, since the plans for the trilogy at once will probably go the way of Cheburashka, they will also scold Pinocchio. Definitely a girl who will also be played by the greatest actress of our time, Kornienko, who quite accidentally flashed into the crowd in the final dance.

The impression left after Prostokvashino is fresh in my memory. In this regard, "Pinocchio" clearly looks in a more advantageous light. First of all, due to the actors (there is no such terrible performance as some there) and musical numbers. But regarding the most serious scenario mistakes in comparison with the Soviet production, I completely agree with @adrienna and some others written above, so it's hardly worth repeating. As a result, it's better than expected after the trailers, but you can't get to that very "scoop" with a stick. However, the target audience, that is, the children, seem to be satisfied, which means they are fulfilling their goal). It remains to gather our strength and take up the second Cheburator from the New Year's.

And yet: have you noticed that when Petrov appears in new roles an order of magnitude less often than before, some of those who previously could not stand him even begin to like him? 😁

I think that theater and musical lovers will like this movie.

The film was released in the most difficult era of world cinema, which continues to "dig" deeper and deeper in search of the "bottom". A separate pain is the production of "remakes", they bury their franchises one by one, we are Soviet cinema classics.
