The main success of the film is its visual against the background of the almost complete absence of dialogues. endless narrow corridors, scuffed walls, faded paints - all this is an ingenious way to show the ordinariness of evil.
I remember the dialogue separately:
— what did you do before the revolution?
— I sat and waited.
— and what did you do after the revolution?
— I waited and sat down.
It's the whole point of the movie. In principle, it was clear from the very beginning what this struggle of the "little man" against big brother would lead to, and that Kuznetsov's hero would not just be left behind. but there was hope, contrary to logic...
