I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

The movie where everyone is yelling))) It's not bad for a teen horror movie. Classic!

A great slasher movie, which is even interesting to review after a while.
I've been watching this movie for a very long time. This slasher belongs to that rather rare category of films, which are interesting to review even despite the long-familiar plot. Moreover, all the details and nuances of the storyline managed to be pretty erased from memory, so after seeing this thriller in a selection of films by genre, I thought why not review it. The plot tightened immediately.
And it was also shot very well, absolutely not tedious, with a twinkle, and accordingly, even now this film has not lost its relevance at all.

The intrigue also lies in the fact that until the very end of the film, it is not possible to figure out who will turn out to be a homicidal maniac.

The good thing about this story is that it's confusing. It is not realistic to predict events, even if you make every effort to solve them.

I first watched "Violent Games" and there Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe played stepbrothers and a sister, and here they play a couple, so funny)))

But, in principle, the film doesn't even have much. I didn't know until the end who they hit on the road, I kept the film in suspense.

A wonderful classic slasher, more intense and action packed than the famous Scream. The Sarah Michelle Gellar chase scene is one of the most exciting I've seen in horror. High-quality tape in every sense.

What is the atmosphere like in old movies?

Familiar faces. Buffy and Leonard from the Big Bang Theory.
The film is good, although there were some dumb moments, but it already seems to be part of the slasher genre.

Some scenes (of course, very well shot and acted) look very specific because of how much a very scary movie is ingrained in the memory...

Cast power

It's a good, iconic slasher. I'm reviewing it before the release of the new part, it looks just as cheerful as the first time. The scene of chasing Sarah Michelle's character is one of the best moments in the movie, and indeed in many slasher films, the baby almost made it! Very sorry. But still, I don't understand the killer's motive, okay, were you taking revenge for being hit? And why was it necessary to kill Max? A cop? Sarah Michelle's sister? They have nothing to do with it at all. Plus, you're not white and fluffy either, you were just shot down at the crime scene after you killed that guy. The type is strange, he would just lay low, the meaning of this revenge is of course..

This is the first time I've looked from and to at a conscious age (and considering the new part, it definitely had to be done). And yet the film is on a par with the scream (well, maybe less iconic than the scream, but almost on an equal footing). Slashers have a special place in my heart, and I'm very happy that we've finally reached this franchise. Everything is in the spirit of that time, excellent cast and plot.

I love old slashers. There will always be a warm place in your heart for them. A very pleasant cast. 🔥

The beginning looked interesting and intriguing, but gradually the nonsense began. The killer's actions became more and more unrealistic, technically and physically impossible. It was very disappointing and spoiled the impression of the film. Although in general, it was fun to watch such a nostalgic youth slasher of those years.
