@motokokisaragi: I didn't watch the musical, but I watched this movie in 1989. It was my first horror movie, and now I've watched it and got the same pleasant emotions as you did when you were a child.

I watched this movie under the impression of the musical "Vampire Ball ". I would like to say that the musical is better. In the film, the relationship between the characters is extremely poorly felt, the characters are extremely cardboard (with the exception of the professor and Chagall). Of the good things, it is worth noting the atmosphere, music, and scenery. In general, the film is for one time and will be interesting only to those who watched the musical and who are interested in the work of Roman Polanski.

P.S. I was extremely pleased that almost all the moments from the film were transferred to the musical, even extremely minor ones. The musical corresponds to the plot of the film by 90%!

A long time ago I watched it on TV, when the TV was still adequate, late at night. It wasn't as scary as it was funny. I am still delighted with this film and I review it at any mention. It is a sad pity for Polanski's wife, the talented and attractive leave early.
