The killer had previously tried to enter this university, then tried to become a military man. He was expected to be disappointed. The son of a migrant and a Canadian woman, he went through the breakup of his family at the age of 7, and probably blamed his mother for this until his last days. Or as he wrote in his suicide note, "feminists."
Perhaps he was overcome by genetic cruelty and could not cope with it.
The result of the attack is 14 dead, all their names are mentioned in the film as the farewell credits.
Requiem in black and white is recognized as one of the best Canadian films in terms of the level of attention and the number of national awards.
