The 2005 film with Depp has nothing to do with this.
In general, it turned out to be a wonderful musical with Wonka in a slightly different interpretation with a bit of humor. The actors conveyed the character of their characters and the mood of the film very well.
I'll start with the fact that I found out about the movie "Wonka" in 2021, then I looked at the schedule of future premieres and saw this tape in future premieres and began to expect it due to the fact that my favorite actor Timothy Chalamet starred in the title role. Later, I found out that this movie was directed by Paul King (the "Paddington" dilogy) and I started expecting this movie even more and finally, after two years of my expectations, "Wonka" was released in theaters. Today I managed to go to the cinema and watch this tape, and what can I tell you? Have my expectations been fulfilled? Now we'll find out!
"Wonka" is a wonderful and lamp–like family tape about dreams coming true. The most important thing is not to give up, no matter how difficult they are.
The plot is naive and simple, but on the contrary, it benefits the tape, it captures you from the very beginning and does not let you go until the very end, the 116-minute chronometer passed in one breath, quickly and imperceptibly.
The humor in the film makes you laugh, and a couple of moments touch you to the core. The characters were not cardboard and wooden, each of them opened up, and some characters can be penetrated and empathized with for them.
The cast is gorgeous. Timothy Chalamet is an excellent Willy Wonka, knowing that Donald Glover, Ryan Gosling and Ezra Miller auditioned for the role of Wonka, Chalamet is generally the perfect choice for this role. Chalamet played well and did not overplay. The rest of the actors also did a great job.
I really liked the soundtrack of the film, the songs are inserted not just for show, but each of them promotes the plot. Of my favorites, I can mention the song "Pure Imagination" performed by Timothy Chalamet. I also liked the rest of the songs.
Also, I would like to mention the excellent costumes, scenery, visual and excellent camerawork.
As a result, "Wonka" is an excellent and lamp–like family movie that is worth watching with the whole family in the cinema. I think in a couple of decades this film will become a classic of the 21st century.
My rating is 10 out of 10 and I advise you to watch it!
Of course, Shalome is good, in all respects and canons suitable for this role.
The question is whether there will be a second part where they will tell you why Wonka decided to leave his factory, returning to the original.
It felt great with Noodle, obviously, that she found her mom in the end.
However, the film itself seemed a little boring to me due to the abundance of songs. Maybe it's me, maybe Russian dubbing, and English would be a delight to the ears, but somehow I wasn't completely moved, I didn't feel it. I am proud that at the very beginning the melody seemed similar to one of my favorite songs – "Pure Imagination", and at the end my guess was confirmed. By the way, it turned out very appropriately!
Rowan Atkinson and Jim Carter are wonderful, I really liked the images of these famous actors. Timothy Chalamet, of course, is perfect for the role.
However, it is unclear how all this comes to Johnny Depp's Wonka, who can't even pronounce the word "parents".
And anyway, I'm waiting for the game "Haunted Chocolatier" from the creator of "Stardew Valley" to feel like a great chocolatier like Wonka, that's what I was thinking)
😅
UPD: I still knew about the movie, but I did not watch it. And the second question is relevant.
Our generation remembers Wonka in 2005 first of all, and this film is visually much simpler and more boring about the atmosphere than Burton's picture.
Quoting a modern classic, it's doubtful, but okay.
But there were more expectations
The part with the chocolate factory seemed more interesting to me
I expected a little worse, but good. Very interesting.
Timothy played great!
A film that is sure to leave an unforgettable impression and will not let you go until the very end.
Each character, whose subtle emotional nuances and inner experiences are striking, is balanced by a director who celebrates the subtle art of combining reality with fantasy.
The atmosphere of the film is enveloping in its mystery and intrigue. The tone of the film balances between the fabulous and the real, but at the same time it manages to preserve moments of realism. The deep meaning of each scene is slowly revealed to the viewer, causing a feeling of exciting surprise and emotional uplift.
The acting in "Wonka" deserves special attention. Almost every character performs in perfect accordance with his role, immersing the viewer in the world of the film. Actors perfectly convey emotions and create authentic images...
The director clearly knows how to create magic on the screen. The visual style of the film is a real work of art, revealing the beauty and grandeur of its world with each frame. The skillful combination of chamber movements, colorful landscapes and fantastic design enhances the impact and aesthetics of the film.
The music in the film is harmoniously combined with the images on the screen.
The design in the film is a skill that deserves praise. From the mind-blowing artwork to the specifics of the costumes and scenery, all the visual aspects of the film are highly detailed, very original and fully emphasize the atmosphere and theme of the film.
The film "Wonka" evokes a kaleidoscope of emotions: from delight to incredible anxiety, from exultation to the deepest sadness. He will certainly leave a mark in the viewer's heart and make you think about many things. This is a work in which talented people embody their visions and experiences, offering us insight into their own inner world.
Timothy played very well, he really joined the role of Willy Wonka. And all the actors played smartly.
The film itself is wonderful! I really want to watch some more part or spin-off about the red-haired man, or even reshoot the original of the Burton chocolate factory, but with Timothy in the title role.
And this scene with balloons😍
I liked it)
Timothy is adorable.
I wonder if they will make a remake of the 1971 film? That would be great.
But negative reviews can also be understood, apparently people were waiting for something similar to Wonka with Depp, but here it's about something else entirely
Although not exactly Charlie and the chocolate factory.
In the West, it is the 1971 film that is the canon, it is being revised, homages are being made to it, and a prequel was also shot about it.
And the movie with Depp has remained a strange incident, a savvy flea. You don't have to spit on him, he tried to outdo the 1971 film and couldn't.
My brother sings this Oompa Loompa song all the time.
A good movie
Wonka's story is different compared to Burton's film.
If it hadn't been for these songs, which I stupidly squandered because I don't like this kind of musicals, maybe a good story would have come out.
