Beautiful beautiful picture
Impressive cast
That's all the advantages

Extremely boring movie
From the actors of the game zero
I absolutely did not see the deep meaning of the film, I will have to watch the analysis on YouTube...

I fell for a bunch of laudatory reviews about the director and warm expectations of the film from users, in vain...

No, well, one thing can be said here — it's Wes Anderson. And the person who goes to the film should understand this. Strange and unusual plans, bright saturated and even oversaturated colors, monotonous acting, original plot solutions. It has it all.

Jokes on the topic we are showing you a film about how a film was shot about how a theatrical production was staged... well, or something like that. Strange alien and damn, but I do not know how it was possible not to laugh at the end of the film. It feels like the whole movie is not a very funny anecdote, which is told by a rather boring narrator with a rich imagination. He fills the whole story with an abundance of interesting plot twists, unexpected heroes, strange details... And then the denouement. And all this volume of information leads to something so small that it really becomes ridiculous. And God, thank you for this director. Without him, I would hardly have experienced these feelings.

A wonderful movie, but strictly for an amateur.

Zboristo. Is it like a pop art house about the industry or a post-irony on production methods? Then you still Google the person and realize that you didn't look at anything from his list and didn't want to. But the guy is cool. Or not? Where the fuck are so many tops from? Is it like Tarantino calling friends/students/relatives or something? or is it their theatrical hangout in the USA? Although they shot everything on chrome, maybe it was all fast and cheap. Or digital copies and chatGPT? For some reason, the film raises production issues for me

A great movie, I haven't experienced such pleasure from watching a movie for a long time. The picture is juicy, fresh, the actors' acting is at the highest level, the meaning is shaded with cotton candy and cream with colorful confetti.

And in general, whoever said anything there - a great job and just a feast for the eyes, as the picture is as juicy as possible.

It seems that the writers' strike has begun to bear fruit, because this is probably the first Anderson film that turned out to be literally about nothing. Not from the point of view of the director's work, everything is quite on the level here. But plot-wise, it's a complete vacuum.

What is this movie about? Who was it taken for? Which of the arches is the main one and what should it lead us to? All these questions could be answered in a simple way: "Bro, well, it's Wes Anderson..."

And I would probably even agree, if not for the fact that previous works, if they did not come to me, at least did not cause obvious rejection. In the case of the Asteroid City, it's just some extremely stuffy sketch that was stretched to a full-fledged movie

The work itself is extremely weak, as for me. I had enough patience for an hour and a half, then I just knocked it out without finishing it.

Therefore, honestly putting my hand on the electric grill, my rating is 2/5

@Djimmy: and what does the strike have to do with it, when this film was shot a long time ago, almost from the 20th year, and the premiere took place in May at the Cannes Film Festival... And when did the screenwriters start attacking there? you have some problems with causation.

@MarkRaffer: Bro, this is rofls...

It is clear that the film was in production much earlier. Therefore, it's not a matter of cause-and-effect relationships, but that you take the information too seriously 🥴

@Djimmy: I just perceive more than normally, but you-yes, you dropped out. This work of Anderson caused covid and isolation. But take him any job. Absolutely any-and what is there on the script? Yes, everything is completely empty and can fit in two or three paragraphs. But he has a different chip-a picture for the sake of a picture. Here is this film-completely in the spirit of all his previous works, that's why the outrage is incomprehensible, they say that they were o - go-go, and this one-so - so.

@MarkRaffer: I watched the Island of Dogs and the Grand Budapest Hotel, and I liked both of these films. I won't be able to say exactly what it is, because I remember only the final emotions from watching, but clearly not just the visual style

Here, there is nothing but a picture for the sake of a picture, which you mentioned above, in general, there is not. Wake me up in 100 years and ask me what this movie is about, and I still won't be able to answer you, because I have absolutely no idea

You are probably right, and this work is really shot in the spirit of previous films. But only this does not contradict the thesis that the picture as a whole turned out to be weak and boring. In confirmation of this, there are a lot of ambiguous reviews, both on Russian-language resources and abroad

I don't want to talk about millions of flies and their ability to make mistakes, nor do I want to continue our conversation with you. Absolutely without irony, I am glad that you were able to enjoy the film. Unfortunately, I do not share your feelings, and I adhere to a different point of view

@Djimmy: okay, whatever you say... I've watched all of Wesse's movies and I won't say I'm thrilled or a fan of him, but as I wrote earlier - the picture is for the sake of the picture and here it is specifically about this - he's very good and has his own underscore.

The film is vaguely focused on the American audience. It is necessary to know a lot of all sorts of subtleties about the life of Americans. I do not know, on this, my humble opinion: the film is mura. Yes, the picture, yes the actors, but there is such a case that it is not fucking clear and interesting...

Another strange movie with a staggering number of stars per square centimeter. Mixed impressions of him. On the one hand, manipulation is directly felt. Let's get more celebrities, forget something fashionable now, stuff a tedious hodgepodge of everything in a row there (let the audience look for a pseudo-secret bottom) and make a meaningful look, waiting for awards.)) And on the other hand, I liked the color part! She is also strange, but sweet, a little funny and touching, sometimes even charming. It's difficult for me to evaluate all this in the aggregate for myself.
P.S. Although Wes Anderson has always shot like this. In vain, probably, I suspect him.))

I'm interested in Anderson and I was happy to start watching the picture. I immediately remembered Dogville, by the way. Catchy, but boring. Quirks, colors, " underground" meanings are cool, but somehow you can fall asleep. Not that " not everyone ", but few people will come in. Please note before viewing :)

Visual and staging, well, pure Wes Andresen. His films have always felt like animated dioramas
But the story seems to throw a bridge to Oppenheimer

So this Barbigheimer of yours - and Margot is also a bomb!
Beautiful as always. Although perhaps I liked the picture even more here than before, everything somehow looks better against the background of the desert.
Well, the rest is about as usual, yes, a simple story of acceptance against a background of cozy absurdity.
The level below, the one about the reflection of illusory and dream (you don't really think that it was a p-stmodern about shooting?), I didn't quite think so, but I'm a fool, I don't really need that.
What can I say about actors, no one gathers the best like that. Well, except for Jarmusch, the Cohens and Tarantina, and so yes, no one. But no one really lets them have fun and flourish. But I would like to note separately that Maya certainly has a brilliant agent, such a filmography at such an age, but it is well deserved.
It's been a rich year, I'm already watching the third best movie.

With all my boundless love for Anderson's films, I can say that this film is not particularly interesting
A beautiful picture, very narrow-cut, there is a favorite move of the director with the narrator, but alas, the rest does not cause such pleasure as in the Grand Budapest or even the French Herald

I don't know if these are high expectations, but the most interesting part seemed to me the first arrival of an alien, from the outside I looked exactly like the people in the frame

I hope that these are temporary difficulties and then there will be something not only beautiful, but also more interesting plot
