Sandworms and a return to Arrakis are revealed in the trailer for the "Dune: Prophecy" series
The prequel show has finally gotten a release date.
It's almost time to return to Arrakis. "Dune: Prophecy" will begin airing on HBO and the Max streaming network on November 17, 2024.
The series is set more than 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movie trilogy. "Dune: Prophecy" tells the origin story of the Bene Gesserit, a secret order of powerful witches who influence the politics of the sci-fi world behind the scenes.
Alison Schapker ("Lost") is showrunner and executive producer. Diane Ademu-John ("The Originals") is a co-writer and executive producer, and Anna Foerster ("Outlander") is an executive producer and directed several episodes, including the first one.
