"Big Little Lies": HBO awaits the release of Liane Moriarty's sequel book

A year ago, Nicole Kidman revealed that the team behind "Big Little Lies" was developing a third season.
Despite Kidman and other actresses, including Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz, talking about the possibility of returning at least five years after the second season was released on HBO, filming has stalled.
Now we know why. HBO head Casey Bloys said he's waiting for Liane Moriarty's sequel to the book to come out before moving forward.
"[Nicole’s] very excited. They’re all excited. We’re excited. We’re all waiting for the book, which I believe is coming soon, but I do not have a copy in my hands", — he said.
Earlier this fall, Moriarty announced that she was writing a sequel to the original "Big Little Lies" book. The book will feature a time jump as well as new characters. "I’m writing a sequel with all the children as teenagers so now the women are the parents of teens", — she told Radio Times.
"Big Little Lies" was written and produced by David E. Kelley. It stars Witherspoon, Kidman, Kravitz, and Dern in the lead roles, along with Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, James Tupper, and Jeffrey Nordling. Meryl Streep appeared in the second chapter.

The series just fascinated me, I recently watched the second season and am glad to continue, even just for the sake of the atmosphere, characters and music.
