After returning from war, Norman knight Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) learns that his friend Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) has raped his wife Marguerite (Jodie Comer). Wanting to defend the family honor and get revenge on the rapist, de Carrouges appeals directly to French King Charles VI (Alex Lawther), who decides that a fair sword fight will resolve the conflict. If her husband loses, Marguerite will be burned at the stake for false accusations.
The plot of the picture is based on the real story of the last legal duel, which took place in France in the XIV century.

The plot is based on the real stories of Frank Lucas himself, who at the age of 17 fell into the Bumpy clan. Director Ridley Scott himself said that the production of "American Gangster" at the time was one of the most ambitious in his career. During its run, 360 scenes were filmed in over 180 different locations.
