Anya Taylor-Joy will star in the film adaptation of "Lucky" by Reese Witherspoon and Jonathan Tropper

Anya Taylor-Joy will star in and executive produce the mini-series "Lucky" on Apple TV+.

The series is based on the novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley. The book was a New York Times bestseller and was chosen for Reese Witherspoon's book club.

The official description says Taylor-Joy "stars as a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past".

Jonathan Tropper ("Banshee") and Cassie Pappas ("Silo") are adapting the book for the screen and will serve as co-screenwriters and executive producers. Tropper is executive producing under an overall agreement with Apple.

The project does not yet have a title, full cast or release date.
