The return of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is getting closer

Hulu is preparing a sequel pilot to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" where Sarah Michelle Gellar will reprise her iconic role. According to Variety, the actress is in final negotiations to take part in the project. That said, the new series will focus on a different slayer, and Buffy will appear in a recurring role rather than as the main character.
Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, known for the show "Poker Face", are working on the script and producing the show. The pilot will be directed by Chloé Zhao, Oscar winner for "Nomadland". Gellar will also serve as executive producer. Joss Whedon, creator of the original series, is not involved in the new project due to allegations of a toxic work environment during the filming of "Buffy".
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" debuted on screens in 1997 and became a landmark show that influenced the development of television. The series helped popularize multi-season storylines and was also one of the first stories with a strong female protagonist at the center.

95In my opinion, it would be better to release just a separate episode, or a feature film in the style of how it was with friends.
+ a series in a mental hospital
and yes, I don't think that whedon should be canceled to the extent that it was done, just not to allow such permissiveness on the site. and when dozens of people who worked with him say the same thing about him as their boss, it's obvious to me that this is true. I don't need to idealize a person and claim that obviously unpleasant things are all bullshit and that's how it was necessary with these fools to recognize his talent and love his work. the question arises, if everything is as you write, then who is this stupid person who hired such terrible actors to work in his own series)
I don't really understand why you're thinking about Zhao for me. I like her as a director, which I think is quite obvious from what I've written.
Whedon's methods were criticized by almost the entire cast of Buffy and his other projects, including such unpopular actresses as Michelle Trachtenberg (with whom he was forbidden to stay in the same room. If that's a lie, do you think he or the other actors wouldn't have denied it?) and gal Gadot (and not just Karisma, which you probably have in mind). Sarah, and almost the rest of the cast, from Benson to Marsters, confirmed that his behavior was like that of a typical abusive boss, as well as the people from the agents of Shield site. Well, such an authoritative source as Joss Whedon himself admitted that he behaved rudely on the set, admitted that he constantly yelled at the actors, and apologized for it. but if you don't believe him either, who am I to argue with you)
and yes, you can be grateful to the person who helped you at the beginning of your career, but consider that yelling at people and smacking them is not the best way to lead. let's leave it at that, if you want to consider those you like as saints, I won't interfere)
Hulu is close to ordering a sequel pilot episode."
It sounds like a threat. 😅
But the atmosphere on set will be awesome. Isn't that what TV shows are made for - so that the actors, screenwriters, and everyone involved (except the audience, which way is the audience here anyway) have a good time?
And they're like that too: We had a hard life at the age of 16. 🤣
It is still unknown who has the rights to the Angel project.
Maybe it's easier to do such rejuvenation now.
I don't really believe it's possible nowadays to recreate the spirit of the series, but I'll definitely see when it comes out.
Nonsense, but I want a sequel, not comics.
It turns out that it will be the same theme performed by other actors.
Will only Sarah Michelle return from the old cast as Buffy? Will there be no others?
Let's see what they do, of course, but there are no special illusions.
The only question is why?🤦♂️
Maybe I would have watched it plunging into childhood , so to speak , but I don 't even remember what happened there , how it ended so long ago .
But I agree, unfortunately, it won't be the right coat without Whedon.
But the conversation was about an actress who would not be cast as a Fighter, and I didn't say anything about the quality of the script.
If the filmmakers had been pushed aside during the production of the series, I think the fans of the film would have been unhappy. But both Whedon and Kuzui were there.
Well, actually, from the 2 Kuzui, there was only a mention in Credits in each episode (and payments to it), which they received by threatening a lawsuit.
And when Vidon wrote the script for the film, he was young and green, and there was little left of his script in the film. So he decided to try out for a TV series later as a creator.
It would be correct to say that the series is a continuation of the original script of the film. It seems that they also made a comic book based on him later.
Although it will be interesting to look at gelar
