Kendrick Lamar's comedy, created in collaboration with the authors of "South Park" Trey Parker and Matt Stone, will be released on screens not on the U.S. Independence Day 2025, but only on March 20, 2026. This was announced by Paramount Studios on the eve of the annual movie event CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The reason for the delay was a busy touring schedule Lamar: his Grand National Stadium Tour starts April 19 in Minnesota and will end August 19 in Sweden.
The details of the project are carefully concealed: neither the title, nor the cast, nor even a brief description of the plot of the studio doesn't disclose. It's only known that the script is written by comedian Vernon Chatman, and the story will revolve around a young black intern who works as a slave reconstructionist at a living history museum.
