The series "We Were Liars" will be released on Prime Video in June 2025
"We Were Liars", based on E. Lockhart's novel of the same name, will be released on Prime Video on June 18, 2025. Production is being handled by Universal Television Studios in association with Julie Plec's My So-Called Company, the creator of "The Vampire Diaries". Work on the project has already been completed, and the first shots from the shoot were published in Entertainment Weekly.
The main roles are played by Emily Alyn Lind (Cadence Sinclair), Subham Maheshwari (Gat), Esther McGregor (Mirren), and Joseph Zada (Johnny) — the quartet of "liars" around whom the story unfolds. Also in the project are Candice King, Caitlin FitzGerald, and Mamie Gummer: they play the three Sinclair sisters, whose fates and internal conflicts will form the basis of a possible second season. Interestingly, Zada will also play Haymitch in "The Hunger Games" prequel.
The plot of "We Were Liars" is about the rich and outwardly perfect Sinclair family, which every year vacations on a private island. However, one summer turns into a tragedy for 15-year-old Cadence. Two years later, her friends try to bring back her memories to reveal the whole truth.
Julie Plec has already stated that she is prepping a prequel adaptation of "Family of Liars", and the second season may focus on the adult Sinclair generation.

7Yes, yes, I also think that my list will go to my grandchildren. The description is interesting, I love thisWe'll watch the first episodes, but I think it will, considering that the creator of the Vampire Diaries is working on the series, who definitely came to me, I hope that they won't make a mistake here either.
I'll definitely watch it, although I won't be able to compare it, because I don't remember much of the plot.
