The original 1994 movie was itself the source of considerable controversy, largely due to the tragic death of Brandon Lee during filming. Given that history, the new version faced resistance from audiences, with the film's director Alex Proyas denouncing it, arguing that the original should have been left intact as a legacy to the tragically departed Lee.

"It Ends with Us"
Drama, romance | 3.97 out of 5 on MyShows | 2024
The screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover's debut novel tells the story of Lily Bloom, a woman who leaves behind a traumatic childhood and starts from scratch in Boston. After meeting charismatic neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, Lily falls in love, but behind the passion soon begins to reveal disturbing traits that remind her of her parents' painful relationship. When her first love, Atlas Corrigan, reappears in her life, Lily has to make difficult choices, relying only on herself and her inner strength.
This movie became infamous because of the tension between the actors and the controversial plot. The stars of the picture, Lively and Baldoni, rarely appeared together in promotional interviews, and later everything ended in mutual lawsuits. However, even before these events, the very adaptation of the novel and its heavy subject matter led to criticism of the film's advertising campaign. In particular, Lively was criticized for taking the topic of violence lightly as she promoted her own personal brand and skirted difficult issues.

"Terrifier 3"
Thriller, horror | 3.44 out of 5 on MyShows | 2024
Five years ago, maniacal Art the Clown rose from the dead, kidnapped Victoria from a mental institution, and disappeared. Sienna, meanwhile, has spent those years in an institution and is now about to celebrate Christmas with her aunt's family. She is excited to see her favorite cousin, but disturbing visions continue to haunt her. At the same time, careless workers accidentally awaken Art and the demon possessing Victoria's body. Now the darkness is back on the hunt — and Christmas in Miles County will turn into a real nightmare.
The movie, even by the standards of horror, went beyond all imaginable limits. The first few minutes of the picture are so disgusting and depraved that reports of people losing consciousness and walking out of the theater popped up online. There were even reports of one unfortunate theater-goer suffering a head injury he sustained when he tried to escape from the screening.

"The Apprentice"
Historical, frama | 3.49 out of 5 on MyShows | 2024
Donald J. Trump, a young entrepreneur, is in the real estate business in Manhattan. His clients include big businessmen, movie stars, powerful politicians, and dangerous criminals. It takes strong connections to stay in this environment. With the help of famous lawyer and master of backstage games Roy Cohn, Trump intends to subjugate all of New York City.
Given the topic and the time when the movie was released, "The Apprentice" should have immediately become scandalous. Especially since at the time of the movie's release, its main character was one of the two major party contenders for the presidency of the United States. It didn't take long for Trump's team to announce their intention to sue the makers of the movie.

"Miller's Girl"
Thriller, comedy, drama | 3.03 out of 5 on MyShows | 2024

Their creative collaboration quickly goes beyond the classroom as an intense emotional game develops between them. With each new assignment, the boundaries of what is permissible are blurred.
The theme of the movie was bound to lead to controversy and outrage — and that's exactly what happened. Many viewers were disturbed by the age difference between the characters and the actors chosen to play them. Ortega, for her part, argued that this was precisely the point of the movie. Freeman also pointed out that "Miller's Girl" doesn't claim that the relationships shown on screen are in any sense at least approvable.

"The American Society of Magical Negroes"
Fantasy, comedy | 2024
Aren, a young black man, is recruited by a secret society called The American Society of Magical Negroes. Their mission is to use magical powers to help white people feel comfortable and free of anxiety, even if it means sacrificing their interests. But when Aren falls in love with the same girl as his "ward", he begins to question the society's mission.
A movie with such a bold premise was almost certainly bound to cause controversy, especially since it was unclear whether it would actually prove successful or become yet another example of the very phenomenon it purportedly mocks. The problems started because of a line of dialog in the trailer: "What's the most dangerous animal on the planet? White people when they feel uncomfortable".

Coppola's epic movie was haunted by criticism even before its release. There were disturbing rumors about the director's inappropriate behavior toward women on the set. The cast also seemed questionable, including Jon Voight and Shia LaBeouf, whom Coppola deliberately chose because of their "canceled" status. Just as importantly, the movie had a hard time finding a distributor, as it was obvious to everyone that the production wouldn't pay off.

I've watched The Raven, a one- or two-time movie, but it's beautiful. Skarsgard is gorgeous, no words, his girlfriend is also pleasant. I was disappointed that the Post Malone track from the trailer was not included in the film, it fit perfectly into the video sequence there. And so, of course, there wouldn't be that hype around raven if it weren't for Lee's death in the original movie. Although there is no doubt that the original film is quite good.
And of course the Terrifying 3. That rare moment when I go to the cinema. The movie is gorgeous 🔥 This franchise is the best thing that has happened in slasher cinema in recent years. No wonder I collected 44 times more than my own budget. Thornton wins back 10,000%
I would add a second "gladiator", there are a lot of show-offs, but in fact it's bullshit.
Oh my God, what gentle people went...There's really nothing there to faint and bump your head while running away. Storytellers. If you can't watch horror movies, go to cartoons and melodramas.
The "terrifying" beautiful slasher. Which meets all the requirements. But it is not designed for a gentle and vulnerable audience.
Of course, it's hard to beat Brandon Lee, but that's about what I expected from the remake.
