David E. Kelley is hoping for a third season of "Big Little Lies": "We all want to do it again"

The creator of the series "Big Little Lies" David E. Kelley said that he has not given up hope for a third season. According to him, the star cast is still interested in returning to the project, and the author of the original novel Liane Moriarty has already written a new book, on which they are planning a sequel. He revealed at the Gotham TV Awards in an interview with People.
"We’re hoping it happens. We had a great time doing the first two seasons and we all want to do it again. I’m hopeful it’ll happen", — Kelly noted.
He clarified that the actors are not yet contractually bound, but are all "waiting by the phone". They include Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, and Meryl Streep. Negotiations with HBO are still ongoing, but the enthusiasm of the participants is evident.
Kelley emphasized that it was Moriarty who inspired the team to continue, writing a new book that will form the basis of the third season. Kidman and Witherspoon had previously mentioned that they were working on an idea for a sequel.
Hospody, there was no need for a second n*** there...
The second season already feels very strained. Why is there a third one here? To spread out for another 8 episodes what can be solved per episode?
Globally speaking, the third season is not even needed by the audience, as it seems to me.
Every year it looks more and more like writing "The Winds of Winter": yes, yes, we are working.
Yes, the second one was worse than the first one, but it was still interesting.
I hope everything will work out! 🤍
