FX unveils trailer for noir series "The Lowdown" starring Ethan Hawke
FX has released a trailer for "The Lowdown", a new series that will premiere on September 23. The main role was played by Ethan Hawke ("The Black Phone"), and the producer was Sterlin Harjo, the creator of "Reservation Dogs".
In the story, lone journalist Lee Raybon publishes an exposé about the powerful Washberg family. Soon after, one of the clan members, Dale Washberg, commits a mysterious suicide, leaving hints that all is not simple in his death. Lee begins his own investigation and quickly finds himself at the center of a dangerous intrigue, with widow Betty Jo and her brother-in-law Donald Washberg, a candidate for governor, playing key roles.
Hawke himself, Garrett Basch, and Ryan Hawke served as producers. FX is positioning the project as an atmospheric neo-noir with a focus on small-town corruption and hidden connections.
