The creators of "Spider-Man Noir" have revealed the show's villains

Prime Video has released a new trailer for its noir superhero series. All eight episodes will be released in May 2026.

Prime Video has released a new promo trailer for the series *Spider-Man Noir*, focusing on the villains of the first season. The video features Sandman, Tumstone, Megawatt, and crime lord Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson (*Mr. Mercedes*). Judging by the promo, Silvermane will be the main antagonist of the season. It has also been confirmed that all eight episodes will premiere on Prime Video on May 27, 2026, with the series launching on MGM+ two days earlier.

The promo reveals new details about the enemies of Nicolas Cage’s character (Renfield). The Sandman is played by Jack Huston (Expatriates), though the character is described more as a tragic antihero than a classic villain. Megawatt turned out not to be a version of Electro, as fans had assumed, but rather the little-known Marvel character Dirk Layton. Additionally, the trailer featured the original villain Jimmy Addison for the first time, a character created specifically for the series.

The story is set in 1930s New York, and the creators describe the series as a crime noir about an aging superhero-detective. The project will be released in two versions—color and black-and-white. Oren Uziel serves as showrunner, and the producers include the creators of the animated franchise "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse."

I'm probably going to get kicked by fans (a couple of friends are already trying), but I plan to watch this series in color, and the atmosphere of the 1930s itself is confusing, but I can't afford to miss this project, if it were anything else, I would definitely skip it.

I honestly tried to watch different b/w projects, but it's not my thing.

If the colored elements in the b/w version are in a noir spider, then I will look at the "gray" version without any questions. Otherwise, I will enjoy all the shades of the rainbow)))

Offhand, I remembered the TV series "Supernatural" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." from the recent b/W series. And no matter how justified they were, I was still unhappy when watching the "gray" episodes. Personally, even the plot seems a little bland to me without color. 🙈

@zyyfff: I totally agree (back in castle, it seems like there was also such a series from what I remembered and absolutely the same emotions, yes, they justify to us why the series is like that and all that, but it's kind of unpleasant to watch, not interesting

@marlenad_13: There was one episode in the SPN where the brothers visited a German town. I only remembered because in the comments the girl asked what kind of dress the waitress serving beer was wearing, and I replied that, most likely, the standard green one)))

There were 2 or 3 episodes in Agents. Something had happened to Coulson there, and he temporarily felt the world was "colorless." I only remember it because I watched it just a week or two ago)))

@zyyfff: I really liked Zack Snyder's Justice League in the CB version. Yes, as if the "colored" version is very gloomy, but in the black version there is some kind of charm. I also watched the director's version of Mad Max, also in black and white, or as Miller himself called it — Black & Chrome Edition (black and chrome), but it turned out to be a strange experience. If there are at least elements of noir in the BOS, then how to explain this in apocalyptic diesel-punk (why bs) is unclear
