KION has released a trailer for the family film *My Grandfather*
KION has released the trailer for the film *My Grandfather*, directed and written by Svyatoslav Vlasov (*The Trail*). The film will premiere on the platform on May 5, 2026.
After the death of his parents, twelve-year-old Vanya moves in with his forester grandfather in a Siberian village. The boy struggles to adapt to his new life and suffers from an anxiety disorder, while his grandfather tries to find a way to help him overcome his fears. A meteorite crash in the taiga brings them closer together: the characters set off on an expedition to the crash site, where they face the challenges of the wild. Gradually, the dangerous journey turns into a story of trust and inner strength.
The film stars Vladimir Gostyukhin, Vsevolod Klimenok, Irina Pegova, Konstantin Chepurin, Artem Tkachenko, and Olga Vinichenko.

In the description: the story tells about the relationship between a grandson and a grandfather. The grandson comes to his grandfather in the village, at first it's hard for him, but gradually he adapts and begins to get closer to his grandfather and trust him.
Judging by this, these films are very similar, the only difference is that there is more drama and they are on a journey, while in those others they are in the countryside and have a more comedic slant.
On the topic of growing up, overcoming oneself and finding a family? I wonder if you can name it, I'll be happy to see it.
😁
Grandfather teaches Vanya to look at the world in a new way and once at a camp tells him, "Life, it's more than a stone" and "If you decide something, go to the end, get scared, turn halfway and that's it!" and Vanya will have to listen to this advice very soon.
Vanya will have to overcome his fear in order to survive and save the only person close to him from certain death, risking his own life. He would have to become a man or die. And that's why the main topic isn't read the first time, and why it's a good thing. The characters of the picture will gain the main thing. They will find a real family again, they will stop closing themselves off from the world of protective shells and will be able to love and be happy again. This, in my opinion, is the author's main thesis and it becomes clear in the very finale, and adventures and vicissitudes are just an entourage that helps to say the main thing.
There are few such films now, where the background sometimes plays a more important role than what immediately catches the eye, and yes, such films are better to watch in a movie, on a big screen and with good sound.
