Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation have confirmed that the animated series *Ghostbusters* will premiere in 2027 exclusively on Netflix. Dan Aykroyd—co-writer and star of the original 1984 film—will serve as executive producer on the project.

Joining him on the series are Jason Reitman, Gil Kenan, Ben Hibon, Elliott Kalan, and Amy Karp. Plot details have not yet been revealed. Netflix has only clarified that the series will be based on the "Ghostbusters" universe and will be part of the expansion of the franchise, which has been running for over 40 years.

Aykroyd previously said that the writers want to use the story to explore personal crises and the challenges people face in life. At the same time, the studio is also developing a feature-length animated film based on the franchise.

Especially the ’97 animated series👏🏼
I'll definitely take a look at that.

Hm... It seems that their economy is slowly shrinking, so they are starting to save money by releasing cartoons based on films and TV series. :))

Earlier, Aykroyd said that the authors want to use the story to talk about personal crises and the problems that people have to deal with in life.
What does this have to do with ghosts? Can't we make another TV series for this?

@driveshaft: against the background of mysticism and ghosts, everyday life will also be revealed.
They've done this a few times in Extreme situations.
If you do it wisely, it will work out fine.

@Raidan: Rather, it will be like in the last two films, where the characters are as uninteresting as possible.

@driveshaft: Here I agree, if the characters are dumber than traffic jams, then there is no point in doing it.

Everything is new - well-forgotten old :)
Apparently we are going back to the time of my childhood, when the old cartoon was played on STS
