AMC has announced the release date for the third season of *City of the Dead*
AMC announced that the third season of *The Walking Dead: City of the Dead* will premiere on July 26, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a teaser featuring Negan and Maggie on the streets of a devastated Manhattan.
In the new episodes, the characters will attempt to unite to build a sustainable community in New York following the events of previous seasons. Maggie and Negan will have to seek out allies, confront new factions, and maintain control over the city, where new types of walkers continue to appear.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan will return to their roles. The series also stars Amy Garcia, Raul Castillo, Jimmy Simpson, Zeljko Ivanek, and Logan Kim. Sean Hoffman has taken over as showrunner for the third season, replacing Eli Horn. The project is based on the comics by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore and remains one of the main spin-offs of The Walking Deadfranchise .
