"Night Sky"

Irene and Franklin are a married couple who have been hiding an unusual secret for many years: there is a portal in their home leading to a mysterious, uninhabited planet. They have grown accustomed to keeping their secret and living a quiet, secluded life, until one day a mysterious young man appears at their doorstep. He makes the couple question how well they understood the nature of this strange world and what dangers it might hide.
“I liked the series. There are elements of fantasy, but they aren’t overly high-tech. An old-fashioned life in the countryside. Romantic relationships, a bit of intrigue. Everything is harmoniously interwoven, not dragged out,” — krokodilova
“It gets really boring watching series with some ‘big mystery.’ You know with almost 100% certainty that no one will give any real answers. And not because they’ve wrapped it up, but because the fleeting ‘wow factor’ and the intrigue-for-intrigue’s-sake are done just for their own sake; no one even tries to make sense of these ‘mysterious’ decisions later or explain why they did it that way at all,” — denska123

"The Green Glove Gang" / Gang Zielonej Rękawiczki
Comedy, Crime | 3.83 out of 5 on MyShows | 2 seasons | 2022–...

Three elderly adventurers and professional thieves—Zuzia, Kinga, and Alicja—have been pulling off daring heists for years and remained elusive because no one took them seriously. Those around them saw them as ordinary, sweet pensioners. After one botched job, the women are forced to hide from the police in a nursing home. But they don’t find a peaceful hideout: the management is involved in fraud and the cruel mistreatment of residents. The heroines launch their own “operation”—simultaneously rescuing the home’s residents, investigating what’s going on, and continuing their scams.
“Light, fun, and interesting. Well-filmed, with very pleasant colors and characters. I don’t often watch series about the elderly; I think more should be made about them and their issues. The Poles did a great job; I recommend it to anyone who’d like to get a taste of Polish culture and see something beyond teenage drama,” — Juullietta
“A cool series. Poland is really bursting onto Netflix and international platforms with solid series. It’s conceived as a comedy, but there’s a lot of drama. The subject matter, of course, is serious. The elderly and how everyone who can be bothered takes advantage of them. It was downright tear-jerking at times. But these three ladies are, of course, just another set of ‘Ocean’s Friends’”— mofogirl

"The Boroughs"
Science Fiction, Horror, Supernatural | 3.94 out of 5 on MyShows | Season 1 | 2026–...

In a luxurious retirement home tucked away among the desolate landscapes of New Mexico, the elderly residents lead a measured and comfortable life: they pursue their favorite hobbies, spend evenings in the company of their neighbors, and enjoy their long-awaited peace. But their familiar routine is disrupted by mysterious events that grow more dangerous with each passing day. It soon becomes clear that alien beings are behind what is happening, attempting to steal the residents’ remaining time. Now the retirees must forget about a peaceful retirement, unite, and fight the uninvited intruders.
“I’ve been waiting for this show! So exciting! I love shows about old people, and I’m a huge fan of the supernatural too! It’s really interesting! The town has such a great atmosphere. It’s got that summer vibe. First there was ‘Widows’ Bay,’ but this is even more interesting than ‘Bay.’ At the beginning, the old lady was watching *The Golden Girls*—I loved that show so much, it’s amazing! Samuel is so cute! And Renee too. It’s clearly going to get intense from here on out, but that’s cool and interesting,” — Jeronimoo
“I liked the first episode. I’ve started noticing that I like stories about old folks, like ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ or ‘Extraordinary Creatures.’ Although, where exactly are they 70-year-old seniors? They’re gorgeous, especially Geena Davis. The monsters here are creepy, probably because of the uncanny valley effect. Eek... But there aren’t enough of them. Though, maybe it gets more intense later?” — an_khv

"Mammoths"
Comedy | 4.01 out of 5 on MyShows | Season 1 | 2024

Retiree Nikolai Nikolayevich sells his apartment and moves to Moscow to be closer to his daughter Yulia and granddaughter Polina. But almost immediately after moving, he falls victim to scammers: a man posing as a bank employee convinces him to transfer all his money to a “secure account.” Unable to get help from the police, Nikolai Nikolayevich decides to track down the scammers himself and recover his savings. Diving into the unfamiliar world of cybercrime and online fraud, he launches his own investigation. He is helped by his granddaughter Polina, who hopes that her grandfather will be able to get his money back and finally settle into a new life in the capital.
“The final episode turned out to be so emotionally heartwarming. In my opinion, one of Yuri Stoyanov’s best roles. He did a wonderful job portraying a naive, tech-illiterate grandfather who is kind-hearted and loves his family with all his heart. Elizaveta Ishchenko, playing Polina’s granddaughter, was a bit of a handful at times, but the actress herself also performed well—she managed to evoke emotions, which is a sign of good acting and immersion in the role. I even found myself wanting to see her in other film roles. The romantic entanglements of Polina’s father and mother felt out of place in this series; in my opinion, they were included more to pad out the runtime. But as an illustration of how a child might turn out in such troubled families, where the father and mother are constantly alternating between arguments and reconciliations, this plotline fulfills its purpose perfectly,” — Flike
“The series is pretty average. The plot developed in a boring, uneventful way; it picked up a bit toward the end, but it took a full 10 episodes to get there. I only watched it through because of Stoyanov and the great music they included in the series,” — Ulyana20

"A Man on the Inside"
Comedy, Spy | 4.14 out of 5 on MyShows | 2 seasons | 2024–...

Widowed retired professor Charles Newendayk feels his life has become a rut. So he agrees to an unusual job: a private detective hires him for a covert operation at an elite San Francisco retirement home. Charles must infiltrate the community of retirees and find out who stole an expensive family heirloom.
“A very comforting series; you can feel it from the very first minutes. It’s great that it’s easy and pleasant to watch, with humor, but it also touches on the difficult topic of losing a loved one and illness. It offers a kind of therapy on how to move forward. The actor, of course, is charismatic!” — FragileCor
“The second season is different from the first—neither worse nor better, just different. It’s no longer about the investigation itself, but about the relationships between people: warm, touching, and genuine. In our everyday lives, where gadgets and AI have become an integral part of our existence—something elusive, heartfelt, and kind slips away from all of us, between us, between people. Something our grandparents know how to do, but we barely do. And this series brings back that elusive feeling where one person is truly another person. Where dialogue, selfless help, and kind words in a difficult moment matter. I liked the season. It was a rest for the soul," — dol_ly

"The Kominsky Method"
Comedy, Drama | 4.26 out of 5 on MyShows | 3 seasons | 2018–2021

Sandy Kominsky is a once-successful actor who long ago left his career in Hollywood behind and now teaches acting at his own studio. His best friend and agent, Norman Newlander, is going through a difficult time following the death of his wife, while Sandy himself struggles with aging, health issues, setbacks in his personal life, and the feeling that time is running out.
“The first 15 minutes didn’t really grab me, but then I got hooked. You have to give this series a try. Yes, the plot doesn’t move very fast, but the dialogue is fantastic. And I can’t remember the last time I saw a series with good humor without the mindless sitcom-style nonsense. I recommend it to fans of the laid-back genre,” — Jammm
“I liked the series. It’s purely a dialogue-driven show, but it’s very charming, so the conversations between the old folks aren’t annoying at all—all their grumbling arguments fit their characters perfectly. And it’s also a lighthearted and rather amusing take on old age, death, the grief of losing loved ones, and disagreements with family... Plus, there are some great theatrical performances that spice up the narrative. The guest cast is excellent; Edelstein and DeVito are absolute gems,” — Nikquest

"Only Murders in the Building"
Comedy, Crime, Mystery | 4.34 out of 5 on MyShows | 5 seasons | 2021–...
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(1022x341:1024x343)/only-murders-in-the-building-steve-martin-selena-gomez-martin-short-102725-2586ea88f10e4b2e98884179a3776d7d.jpg)
Three lonely neighbors—former actor Charles, ex-Broadway musical star Oliver, and young artist Mabel—live in the prestigious New York building “Arconia” and love true-crime podcasts. When a mysterious death occurs in the building, the characters begin to suspect it was murder and decide to conduct their own investigation. While trying to find the culprit, they record a podcast about the case and gradually get drawn into a series of new crimes, mysteries, and strange coincidences.
“So fresh! The actors are great. I’ve loved Selena since *Wizards of Waverly Place*, so seeing her in a show like this was wonderful. A great trio of characters, plus each has their own mysteries (the ending was especially surprising),” — unicornpower
“I think all ‘Selena-tars’ have been waiting for this day; finally, we can watch the series and appreciate Selena’s new role, and she’s wonderful. The show really draws you in with its atmosphere, dialogue, the main trio, and their stories; I’m dying to find out what happens next, who the killer really is and why, and, most importantly, how the characters’ fates will change after they meet and record the podcast. Steve, Martin, and Selena did an excellent job,” — Rinairina

Russian - "Old ladies on the run", "Dinosaur".
I'm not a big fan of TV series about the elderly, but these ladies have the right adventures. Sometimes the Poles also have great content, in addition to this project, I also saw the comedy Dead Number (aka Once upon a Time on the highway), and the military series about the 2nd World Spy Bay
