Marvel has released the first trailer for the movie Avengers: Doomsday

In the new installment of the franchise, the heroes will face off against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. The film will be one of the key projects of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for the movie *Avengers: Doomsday*. The trailer confirmed the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this time as Victor von Doom—the superhero team’s main antagonist. The film is scheduled to premiere on December 18, 2026.

The film’s plot remains under wraps for now. According to official sources, the story will revolve around a clash between heroes from different Marvel universes and the aftermath of events from the studio’s previous projects. The trailer revealed that Doctor Doom will be the central threat to the characters, who must unite in the face of a massive conflict.

"Avengers: Doomsday" is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously directed "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame." The screenplay was written by Stephen McFeely, who has worked on several Marvel films. Following *Avengers : Endgame* , the film *Avengers: Secret Wars* is set to be released , with its premiere expected in 2027.

For all my love for KVM, it all looks a bit strange, of course.
I like Stuart and McKellen, but they're getting older, so we have two grandfathers, they're sitting and holding hands. And we also don't have enough charismatic actors, so we make one grandfather young again (hello, cap), and drag the other actor to the main role of the villain.

In general, after Thanos, everything went wrong, kmk. But, this is a CME, I'll watch, let's see what happens.

P.S. I still don't understand why it was impossible to make a recast of Kang, despite the fact that we have a multiverse, and he can look like anything. Loki had a femme version.

@xcsrx: Technically, none, kmk. No matter how many TV series were released, none of this had any significant impact. Yes, the characters were revealed, but otherwise it doesn't matter. Especially here, where Doctor Doom is actually the new villain. If only they had left Kang, then okay, then Loki, Ant-Man 3 could still be called. As it is, the latest Avengers are enough (because they promised to insert some scenes in the updated version) Avengers: Endgame Encore and that's it.

p.s. the only exception, imho, is Vandavision before Stredge.

Yes, I agree that the second Panther will explain the strained relationship between Shuri and Namor, but just seeing how Marvel releases films, how independent they are from each other, how uneven the Saga of the Multiverse is, I do not know if I really need to watch past films. Whether it will be easier with them, yes, probably, but it's not something critical, as it seems to me.

It's hard with the X-Men, as if you need to understand the general story, but as if there's no specific movie that looks like it. It's more complicated here.

The trailer caused conflicting emotions. It seems that some of the scenes look interesting, but there is no longer such a HYPE as during the "Infinity War" and "Finale". In some places, you can see that the graphics are still being finalized and finalized.

Does Robert have some kind of lifetime contract with Marvel, so that after Stark's death he was returned to the role of the antagonist? Or have actors run out in Hollywood?
