The movie "Children of Blood and Bone" has released its first trailer

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for *Children of Blood and Bone*—the film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s novel of the same name. The film was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (*The Immortal Guard*). The film stars Tuso Mbedu (“The Mission”), Damson Idris (“Snowfall”), Tosin Cole (“Supergen”), and Amandla Stenberg (“Acolyte”). The premiere is scheduled for January 15, 2027.

In the kingdom of Orisha, King Saran has wiped out those with magical powers and banned all forms of magic. Zeli gets a chance to restore magic to her people and, together with her brother Tsain and Princess Amari, sets out on a dangerous journey. They are opposed by Crown Prince Inan, who has been tasked with stopping the heroes at any cost.

The film is based on Tomi Adeyemi’s debut novel, which launched the *Legacy of Orïsha* trilogy. The book was published in 2018 and topped The New York Times bestseller list for several weeks. The screenplay was co-written by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Vanuri Kahi, and Adeyemi herself served as an executive producer. Filming took place in South Africa, and the filmmakers drew on the mythology and culture of West African peoples.
