The creator of *Silo* will produce a series for Apple based on Colson Whitehead’s trilogy

Apple TV+ has greenlit a series based on Colson Whitehead’s “Harlem Trilogy.” Graham Yost, creator of the series *Silo*, and Arik Avelino, who directed several episodes of that show,are serving as writers and executive producers on the project . Apple Studios and Warner Bros. Television are producing the series.

The series will be based on the novels *Harlem Shuffle*, *Crook Manifesto*, and *Cool Machine*, which is set to be released in 2026. The main character is furniture salesman Ray Carney, who tries to lead an honest life but gradually finds himself drawn into Harlem’s criminal underworld. The story spans several decades—from the 1950s to the 1980s—combining crime drama, family history, and satire.

For Graham Yost, this will be his second major project for Apple TV+ following *Silo*, which was previously renewed for a third and fourth season. Colson Whitehead’s works have been adapted for the screen on multiple occasions: the miniseries *The Underground Railroad* was directed by Barry Jenkins for Amazon, and the film *The Nickel Boys*, based on the novel of the same name, received two Oscar nominations—for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.
