The season finale will continue the story of the Targaryen civil war and explore the consequences of new conflicts between the forces of Rhaenys and Aegon II.

HBO has released a preview of the eighth episode of the third season of *House of the Dragon*. The season finale will continue the conflict between the Targaryen houses following the events of the previous episodes. The episode is scheduled to premiere on August 9, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max.

In the footage shown, the characters are preparing for new clashes during the Dance of the Dragons—a civil war for the Iron Throne. The story will focus on the aftermath of previous battles, the struggle to secure allies, and the ongoing conflict between the supporters of Rhaenys Targaryen and Aegon II Targaryen.

The third season continues the adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s novel *Fire & Blood*. It consists of eight episodes. Ryan Kondal is the series creator, and George R. R. Martin and the HBO team remain executive producers.

It looks like they won't leave us without the final battle of the season this time. But they still stretch the season excessively.
After August 9th, I'm on standby for the final season.:
The Battle of Tumbleton is going to be epic, I haven't read the book, and I'm terribly interested in what kind of losses await us.
