Mahershala Ali will play a hitman in the movie *Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother*

The trailer for the action film *Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother*, starringMahershala Ali (*Moonlight*),has been released. Bassam Tarik (“Where Are You From?”) directed and wrote the film. The movie is scheduled to premiere internationally on September 25, 2026.

Latif is a deeply religious hitman who, after his wife’s death, tries to balance his dangerous job, his faith, and raising his children. The protagonist must make his way through Houston to protect his family, while simultaneously facing external threats and a crisis of his own convictions.

The film also stars John Cho (“North Star”), Giancarlo Esposito (“The Gentlemen”), Abubakar Ali (“House of Dynamite”), and Trammell Tillman (“Division”). The project was produced by Bassam Tarik, Babak Anvari, and Lucan Toh.

For Bassam Tarik, “Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother” marks his first feature-length project since the film “Where Are You From?” (2022). Previously, the director was also involved in the development of Marvel’s *Blade* starring Mahershala Ali, but left the project in 2022.
