Henry Cavill has confirmed his role in the Warhammer 40,000 TV series

Henry Cavill (“The Witcher”) has confirmed that a Warhammer 40,000 series is in development at Amazon and that he will play the lead role. The actor will also serve as an executive producer on the project, though he has not revealed which character he will portray or what events will form the basis of the plot.

Mike Flanagan (The Fall of the House of Asher)is writing the series. The team has already developed initial story concepts and is continuing to work on the project alongside Amazon MGM Studios, Vertigo Entertainment, and United Artists. Cavill noted that the creators are striving to make the adaptation as faithful as possible to the atmosphere of Warhammer 40,000 and are carefully considering the direction for the future series.

Amazon acquired the rights to adapt Warhammer 40,000 in 2022, and the final agreement with Games Workshop was signed in 2024. The project is in the early stages of production, so a release date has not yet been announced. Warhammer 40,000 is a tabletop gaming universe created by the British company Games Workshop, set in the distant future, where humanity wages large-scale wars against alien races and other threats.
