Deadline reports that the shooting of the second season of the series "Wednesday" will start at the end of April and will take place in Ireland. The first part of the project was filmed in Romania, but because of logistical problems location decided to move.
The series starring Jenna Ortega tells the story of Wednesday Addams — the daughter of Gomez and Morticia. She studies at Nevermore Academy, where she tries to subdue the psychic abilities that have manifested themselves. But her troubles don't end there: Wansday has to stop a killer terrorizing a small town and unravel the mystery of her parents, who connected them 25 years ago.
The plot of the second season has not yet been revealed. Showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have hinted that viewers will learn more about the Addams family members in the new episodes, as well as see more of Wansday and her mom's relationship. Jenna Ortega, who will serve as a producer for the second season, said that the continuation of the series will focus more on horror rather than teen romance.
The show has become Netflix's most-watched English-language project in history, with the first season having 252 million views — almost twice as many as its closest competitor, the fourth season of "Stranger Things" with 140 million views.
