A mysterious killer hunts Jedi in the trailer for the detective thriller "The Acolyte"

Disney+ has released a trailer for the detective series "The Acolyte", a new project in the "Star Wars" universe. The video was released in honor of Star Wars Day, which takes place on May 4.

The project is set in the heyday of the Republic — about a hundred years before the events of the prequels. In the story, someone begins to exterminate the Jedi. A respected Jedi Master and his former Padawan take up the investigation. But the further the investigation goes, the more they realize that all is not as it seems at first glance.

The series stars Lee Jung-Jae, Amandla Stenberg, Dafne Keen, and Jodie Turner-Smith, and is directed by Leslye Headland, who worked on "Russian Doll".

The show will premiere on June 4. The first two episodes of the series will air that day, and "The Acolyte" will have a total of eight episodes.
