Max has renewed the comedy "Hacks" for a fourth season

Streaming service Max has renewed the comedy series "Hacks" with Jean Smart in the title role for a fourth season.
The renewal was announced immediately after the finale of the third season, which premiered in early May. Deadline's sources suggest that next year "Hacks" will get another season — probably the final one. Previously, series creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky said they were planning five seasons of the project and had already figured out how the show would end.
The series is about Deborah Vance, a legendary Las Vegas comedy diva who wants to reboot her career and attract a younger audience. To Deborah's rescue comes 25-year-old Ava, who can't find another job because of an offensive tweet and a tarnished reputation. Gradually, the women grow closer: Ava pushes her new boss to take on riskier material, and Deborah, in turn, helps Ava deal with her personal problems.
