HBO has renewed the series "House of the Dragon" for a third season

HBO has renewed the series "House of the Dragon" — a spin-off of "Game of Thrones" — for a third season. The renewal was announced even before the premiere of the second season, which will be held only on June 16.
The first season of "House of the Dragon" proved to be a real hit for HBO: the first episode of the project became the most watched premiere among all original series of both HBO and HBO Max (now Max). Overall, each episode averaged 29 million viewers.
The series "House of the Dragon" is based on the book "Fire & Blood" by George R. R. Martin. The action of the project develops 200 years before the events of the original series and tells about the struggle for the throne of Westeros between the two branches of House Targaryen.
In the second season, which will have eight episodes, the civil war between the Targaryens, known as the Dance of Dragons, will officially begin.
