Overview

Somewhere in the vast sea of the Internet, there's a website that can only be accessed at the stroke of midnight. Known as the Jigoku Tsushin, rumor has it that if you post a grudge there, the Jigoku Shoujo will appear and drag whoever torments you into the inferno. Very little is known about the girl - all we know for sure is that she lives with her equally enigmatic grandmother, that three magical straw dolls accompany and serve her, and that whenever a posting on the Jigoku Tsushin moves her, she becomes the Jigoku Shoujo.

@Sarcoma: Most likely, Arina's cousin didn't get to her after all, because (even though he could have easily put his hand in and opened the door, and then just slammed it) she was still wearing too many clothes and too few obvious injuries for sexual assault (I have no doubt that in such a fit of rage he would have crippled her face). Perhaps Arina was affected by the very fact of pressure, when you have to fight fear every second, remembering possible past meetings when she was forced to be alone with him.
Akira and the second victim tortured the girl who, along with her cousins, tortured him. She was on the stairs when the boy was tied up with a rope, and was in the courtyard scene. Therefore, without having a third person to summon Enma Ai, they solved everything by improvised means.
It won't help my sister any more. She needs long-term psychotherapy, not further murders. But the Russian subtitles said it would help other girls, like Arina herself. That is, it will prevent further violence and discrimination. Here.

In my opinion, the anime is simply amazing. Each novel is carefully crafted. It seems we've seen all kinds of hate, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe it's because there's not much action involved. After all, many people like that everything flashes and flashes on the screen, but there is no sense. Lately, you won't find any really serious anime that would raise such "non-childish" topics for thought. And, I'm sure, this is one of the best works in the horror genre. Even if it doesn't cause particularly violent sobs and self-flagellation, but, as for me, this anime is more impressive than another bloated, hyped and useless one.

The series is controversial. On the one hand, based on the emotions of the suffering of the elderly, almost the most vulnerable social group, I would like to say that Enma Ai was the only way out. But then, on the other hand, logical thinking wakes up: a) after the death of the director, the staff who bullied them still continues to work there, which does not negate further violence,
b) from the very beginning, no one fought for these old men, not even Tsugumi (whose appearance in the series, although drawn to the series for ears, I was a little pleased), from which we can conclude that the appeal to the Infernal girl was caused by inaction on the part of those who saw, knew and condemned everything. What prevented the trainee who spoke on camera back then, Tsugumi, who witnessed the violence with her own eyes, or someone else (even the old people themselves, Sakura had access to a computer, to the Internet) from letting other people know that human rights were being violated inside the boarding house? It is well known that society is very enthusiastic about the stories told by employees of a particular service sector.
Besides, there was a very big mistake with the journalists. Maybe it's a matter of mentality, but our journalists, especially from independent publications, are always happy with good material. And violence against the elderly in an elite boarding house is quite catchy and will soon be on the rise of a caring crowd.
The cherry on the cake is a doll thrown out the window, and then, a minute later, lying peacefully on the floor of the room. Don't do that.
