I am in indescribable delight about bookworms, in any anime and in any form. The GENUS is in its own way an ode to bookworms, but unfortunately it is very loose. I really like how they use paper (it's like some kind of ninjitsu), but there is no explanation for this ability, just as there is no explanation for what kind of "villains" are opposing the bookies?
In fact, this is a spy thriller, and according to the law of the genre, the villain should be unknown (for example), and the spies should mysteriously disappear and reappear (after all, the brainchild is Japanese, so everything is done very eccentrically). The music, I must say, matches the genre, which is just amazing (I've been listening for five years now). The story is fascinating, the paper magic is amazing, but something is missing, period.
Anime is unique and "necessary" in its own way, it was specially created for fans of reading books (which are being translated somewhere in our country). The shooting continues, as it should, and once again I am saddened that I do not read Japanese.
