The Mrs Bradley Mysteries

A wonderful Art Nouveau detective story, a must-see for fans of Poirot and Miss Fisher. It's a pity that there are only five episodes.

Wealthy and independent, fashionable and elegant, a true aristocrat and socialite solves mysterious crimes with the participation of her reliable and devoted chauffeur.

The series is based on the main character, a wealthy socialite and an experienced English lady with impeccable style, extremely observant and possessing a sharp mind and an equally sharp tongue. At the same time, she does not tolerate boring leisure, is very curious, easy-going, and ready to boldly disregard the mossy customs of her circle for the sake of an exciting adventure, and in general is an unusually mischievous, harmful, and even a little hooligan person who cannot pass by at least some interesting incident, much less a mysterious death that happened very close by.. For all her restlessness, originality and some eccentricity, she certainly cannot be next to a vulgar and bloody dismemberment in a seedy den, her affairs are quite decent poisoning in a decent house or murder at the opera, well, in the most extreme case - in the circus.

It was shot with high quality, not too fast, a good picture, there is intrigue, the caustic remarks of the grand dame are pleasing, her restrained and patient personal driver and assistant turned out to be a nice character, and Diana Rig herself is just a good fellow.

A separate and very noticeable place (especially for the female half) is occupied by dresses, hats and other outfits of the main character. The artists and costumers tried to reflect the beauty and chic of the last years of that brilliant and elegant era. It's nice to watch. It's a decent mini-series.

Language. They speak well - it is clear and, even almost all rare common people, correct. Subtitles can help you better appreciate the snide remarks of the main character.
