The main character's feature is his noble origin, which determines a significant part of the relationships in the series, and above all, with other police officers. On the one hand, commanders generally do not like independent and principled people, on the other, they consider the detective to be an upstart white hand, besides, they doubt his priority in following the unwritten laws of corporate solidarity, and in general they do not miss a pleasant opportunity to "build" a graph. His colleagues can't consider him completely their own either. For those who have a difficult police service, which is primarily a paid job and a pension, it is not easy to understand why a well-off and educated person is dragging a strap next to them.
Naturally, difficulties arise in the relationship with his partner, a capable sergeant from the people. However, they create an excellent dedicated team, complementing, teasing, covering for and helping each other out, overcoming office and everyday problems, ambiguous relationships between colleagues and superiors, successfully unravel crimes and solve dramatic murders.
The footage is acceptable, the stories are interesting, the characters are lively. Perhaps there are a little too many NON-detective events and all kinds of relationships, family, office and domestic. A good-quality average man, it was a pity that it was over.
Language. The main character speaks very well, as he should, the heroine speaks worse, but quite clearly, however, there are characters with strong regional accents. Subtitles won't hurt.
The character himself is bad, and the plot is idiotic. Why and for what reason did they so stupidly allow even a non-police psychologist to expose himself in such a situation? Logically, all the cops who were in the last scene should be fired to hell. To allow a civilian to shield himself from a weapon. Breeed.
I'm terribly sorry for Lynley, but I'm not sorry for Helen at all.
She infuriated the entire series with her stupidity, uselessness, and cruelty to Lynley. And both the actresses who played her didn't save the situation.
