Cordelia Gray unexpectedly inherits a small private detective agency. A young and inexperienced owner of a not particularly prosperous business does not have to choose clients, and things come across more complicated than one another.

There is nothing unique in the plot scheme, everything is quite familiar. A novice detective is smart, conscientious and idealistic, sometimes brave, and sometimes imprudent, no longer naive, but not yet prudent. And her only and irreplaceable assistant is the far from young, but loyal and reasonable Mrs. Sparshott. Almost all investigations turn out to be much more confusing and dangerous than one might expect. And even the true goals, motives, and roles of the customers are beginning to be questioned. The series is based on the books by P.D.James, the stories are good, twisted, however, the characters, or rather their behavior, seems a little outdated, if not anachronistic.

It was not delivered quickly and quite simply, the action develops steadily, the installation is smooth. Good casting, they play well. They don't overdo it, they don't stress on the drama and depth of the characters. The characters are fairly standard, some are almost schematic, which, in my opinion, is completely appropriate.

It turned out to be a slow-paced detective series, with a pretty heroine and an intricate plot, without an exuberantly intense intrigue, but with a uniform suspense. A sturdy, bland middle-class man.

Language. They speak well, correctly, a little old-fashioned. I didn't notice any unusual slang or a particularly heavy accent. There were some difficult words and expressions, so sometimes I had to "squint" at the Russian titles (I still couldn't find the English ones).
