For 2012, which was rich in a sad visual style and computer graphics for neither village nor city, the decision to draw in the style of the 90s was most welcome. It didn't work out in the 90s, but the title got a cool and recognizable visual style.
Music in places, especially in dreams, where it works together with the cool visual style of dreams, evokes very strong associations with the works of Studio Ghibli.
Despite the local "oddities," it turned out to be a very good story about how relationships can develop and how layered they can be. Unlike their counterparts in the genre, they develop here, and "strangeness" serves as an excellent thick hint of empathy and conversations about what is happening in the partner's head.
The characters are well written, the situations are vital, no one makes you feel Spanish shame, this in itself is an achievement for this genre.
It's worth reading the original manga, because the title owes her a lot, and looking for other works from this studio.
