It's an amazing series, and the actors are wonderfully chosen, so emotional, especially Tess and Angel. I am also very glad that almost all the events were reproduced exactly according to the book. There are no words to describe the overwhelming feelings that overwhelm me after the completion of this wonderful story, and this is due not only to Hardy, but also to the screenwriters, of course.

I love the moment when Angel carries Tess in his arms through a puddle. It's so romantic, I'm really glad that this episode wasn't excluded from the series. According to the book, this is one of the best things Angel has ever done.

God, why did I watch this series, I didn't read the book, but I already knew from the BBC screensaver that it wouldn't end well. Tess was incredibly sorry, the whole life of such a sweet and innocent girl was a torment.

What a terrible attitude towards women! We are shown two identical offenses on the part of a woman and a man (a love relationship, if I may say so, before the wedding) and such a strange and different reaction of a man - a husband who abandoned his life's love to the mercy of fate a second ago. I understand that there used to be a different time, a religious society, gossip and all that, but why is that?! It's cruel and stupid and totally unfair.

I thought it would be a light love melodrama set in the 19th century. How wrong I was.
